Re: Changes coming to Tactical Gamer
I think this really stemmed from Team Fortress 2. I think that games based in realism should keep that same amount of realism originally intended in the game.
Tactics should always be the first priority at TG. The number one priority in my opinion.
Simply stating that all games should be inforced with the same amount of realism that the designers intended. The bunny hoping rule was broken with Dystopia. It's a special case, just like Team Fortress 2. Tactics didn't suffer, it presented a challenge along with every other game.
Bottom Line: Having exceptions to every rule other than an emphasis on Tactics Teamwork and not breaking the game, deviating from how the developers intended, is fine in my opinion, I don't see why others can't see it that way.
Is there something I'm missing?

Re: Changes coming to Tactical Gamer
As TG continues growing, some games will put down solid roots and others will whither on the vine - for new titles to grow and the venerable titles to be sustained, it's critical that the community grow appropriately. One thing we should consider going forward is developing a more methodical, global strategy for getting people to the forums and plugged into the community. Even simple things like examples of what-to-say in-game when you want to invite someone to the forums would be helpful. I see this referral happening very little these days (I'm guilty anyway), but going forward it's going to be critical.

Nice! This looks like a very good direction and should make growth much less painful. Bravo!
I know for a fact that PR will benefit from the game specific primer.

Re: Changes coming to Tactical Gamer
The changes are all well and good for the games Apo, but you're still missing that key ingredient: TG Merchandise!!! TG bumper stickers, coffee mugs, shot glasses, memo pads, pens, helmets, dog tags, t-shirts, jello molds, cookie- cake cutters (it tastes better when they're shaped "T" and "G").
*I just got a Space Balls flash back. It's all about Mel Brooks starring as Yogurt, rambling about merchandizing.
(Seriously the comments and changes are great. But if you're semi-interested, I know a gal that produce all that if you have orders, she made me half a dozen boxer shorts that read "NorCalRoach"- she said it was sexy, I couldn't blame her)

Somewhere between Sylvester Stallone, Antonio Bandares and Justin Timberlake.

So dumb, foreign and gay?
Well 2/3 isn't bad for you
And as for selling merchandise it does sound like a good idea. Might give apophis a nice little boost of income. You know buy a $2 shirt and a $3 iron on image and sell it for $15-20.

Actually, I slightly "merchandised" a guild I used to help run named "Paradise Found." Went on a trip to Victoria's Secrets with my gf and found some PF panties... yes, panties that said "Paradise Found" on them. Indeed it was and indeed it was sexay.
Some TG Woodland Camo underwear wouldnt be a bad idea. heheh ".... for mature gamers"
hey Sharabeth!! You could make TG- WoW cookies! (surprisingly, those would probably make a helluva lotta money in the games stores)

It includes the coffee mug, mouse pad, and thong!
There is even a wall clock and BBQ apron!
Seriously, I gonna get a t-shirt and coffee mug.

Re: Changes coming to Tactical Gamer
Thanks for the links guys. I remembered it being out there, but I couldn't find the link to it on the TG site without doing a lot of digging. Somewhere easily accessible would be good and a little more variety in terms of types of TG logos. Maybe the link to it could be with the buy/sell/trade forum?

Re: Changes coming to Tactical Gamer
Personally, I think most of that Cafepress stuff is junk. The logo came off everything I originally bought within a few months. That's why I don't have the URLs up anymore.
