Re: Feedback - Basic Infantry Class on TS
Also just wanted to say thanks for setting this up and taking the time. I personally appreciate it.
I think it's a swell idea, how it was done today, as an open class without restrictions of a game engine. It really opens the class up to people who can't participate in games like Battlefield or ArmA (like myself).
The diagram was helpful as a visual aid, and I think that would play an important role in future classes. Video would be nice as well, as others have mentioned before me. Although I don't think an abundance of either will be necessary, as I'm sure getting something like what was done today took enough time to set up as it is.
I really have nothing new to say here, I am just really glad to have participated in this and am looking forward to future classes.

Re: Feedback - Basic Infantry Class on TS
It was great.
Thanks for organizing this.
Next time I would like to see more presentation material, like more slides and maybe some short videos.

Re: Feedback - Basic Infantry Class on TS
I too liked the class formatand thought you did an excellent job Disposable!
I just want to add one thing to what everyone else has said.
Splitting up the course in modules and being able to discuss at the end of each is something you should consider using in the advanced courses as well.
Again, thanks for putting this together!

Re: Feedback - Basic Infantry Class on TS
I really liked the way this class was organized. TS is a great communication tool for this, especially since it allows us not only to participate in vocal discussion, but to silently go into asides with one another which are more specific to our particular games without disrupting the flow of the class. Thanks to everyone involved for putting the course together and making it work so well. Also, I'd like to thank everyone who helped illustrate different perspectives on applying the concepts discussed to different games. I'm looking to get into PR and POE a bit more in the near future, so it's good to have these basic concepts and perspectives going in.

Basic, I'll grab the popcorn. Can you grab the beer?
Well, in case you wonder about this odd statement... its about the recording of the video trainings.

Re: Feedback - Basic Infantry Class on TS
I am very disappointed that I did not get to attend. I got clearance from chief (aka wife) but saw by that time.. it was too late to sign up. I hope someone recorded the TS session?

I believe there was talk of someone recording the class. PM Disposable, he may have the file or remember who was recording it.

Re: Feedback - Basic Infantry Class on TS
I recorded the session and have a 220 MB wav file of it. I'll encode it to mp3 and host it when I get home from work. Of course some context will be missing as a lot of communication was happening via text chat in TS.
