    The TG:TF2 Scrim Steam Group

Rather than trying to dig up players via the forum before a match, I've setup a Steam Group for the Scrim Team for Bc2ID (who is now in charge of internal and external scrims, besides the BFCL (unless he wants that responsibility as well, his call)) to use to get everyone in gear. I've sent out invites to everyone in the TFR Scrim thread that I could find. If I missed you, send me or Bc2ID a PM with your current Steam Name (not ID) and I'll find you and invite you.

Now, not all players need to play in every scrim, nor will you always get to play. If you played in the last one, please bow out and sub if a new player wants in. But be sure you actually want to be involved before you join the group.

Anyways, anyone in the Steam group can talk to other clans/communities about a scrim, but the actual details need to be run by Bc2ID for approval.

I'm considering another Steam Group for BFCL if someone steps forward to take the reigns. Please do not setup a Steam Group for that, I'll handle it.

Very nice use of technology, you young wippersnapper!

Our BFCL needs something similar, but yes, we need a fearless leader.

"No Spawn Camping" OK. Let me understand the mechanics. On our server we can spwn camp because it is assumed that you spawn in neutral territory and have the time to react before engaging the enemy. Personally I agree with this. Now in the scrim sticky you say we cant. Fair enough, but this better apply to the offense as well. Otherwise they get the advantage of doing it and Defense dont. Also, does this mean we cant be outside waiting for them at the start of the round and if not, how far from the entrance are we allowed to be? Can sentries covering the exit be placed? etc.

    Just curious.

PS I was not invited to the Scrim Team.

    Are you fearless?

We have agreed to abide by TFR's rules of no spawn camping, for the upcoming scrim with them. They will, of course abide by it as well.

I will add you to the Group, just PM your STEAM name.

Please try and keep this thread general to the scrim team. Questions about specific matches can be addressed in the relevant threads.

PM=private message. Click on someone's name here in the forums and you'll get a dropdown menu, which has the option to "send a private message to (insert name here)". Type out your message in the new screen and send away! You can also do this from your message box in your UserCP (which can be accessed by the UserCP link at the top of the forums).

I sent you an invite. Hit me up tonight on Steam if you didn't get it.

Do Steam groups have their own little board (in Steam) or something? The chatroom seems to be a little...inconvenient. If not, having a topic stickied for discussion (tactics, upcoming matches, etc.) would be nice.

That would be the purpose of this forum. As we go along, it will get more organized. If we need something private, I could always put in a request for a private scrim forum. Or we could use www.tacticalconflict.com

Haven't we added about a zillion subforums already in the last two weeks? I'm getting tired of all the middle clicks.

Alright, I wasn't sure how general this forum was going to be.
@Magna- How many clicks are you doing?

Just so you know, I've setup my most viewed forums under a subscription (no e-mail notification). At the top of a forum, click "forum tools," the click "subscribe to this forum."

Now, when you go to TG.com, click your UserCP and only the forums you're subscribed to show up on the list. Makes my life a lot easier.

Re: The TG:TF2 Scrim Steam Group

    Update on Scrim Planning:

TFR- still in the intial planning stage. They are assembling their team and I hope to have their roster soon. It looks as if this scrim will go forward.

East Coast TF2 clan- They are a rather large community (TF2 standards) and seem to have the same playstyle as us. I have begun discussions with two of their Admin's in hopes that we can schedule something.

NIN- Sadly, it looks as if they do not have the support for this. My hopes of them getting a few more players are not too high.

I have a couple more feelers out there, but these are the most solid. If you are interested in Scrimming than please send me your STEAM name and I'll add you to the group. You do not have to commit to all of the matches, instead just pick and choose which ones you would like to attend.

    Thanks,

    B
