TFR vs TG part 2
Well it was a hard fought match, but TFR wore us down. We made it all the way to a winner take all CTF Mach4, where TFR beat us 5 to 2.
All maps were a defensive struggle until the end and Hydro was a stalemate that proved the teams were evenly matched. Thanks to Fenix and Kormendi for running the server as our team was short a person. Our Valiant after Valentines Loveless Team was: TheSkudDestroyer Ferris Bueller Mahonri Johnny Boy Eternaly_Lost Fish #641 Zephyr ROCKS and of course the spy....Magna. Even though we came up a little short, I think we fought very well. I think our weakness was our lack of prep and because of that the next time we will have a "team" leader. Great job to all that showed up promptly and it goes without saying that we did TG proud. This was the first scrim I have ever arranged and you guys made everything painless. Now the forum is open for discussion..... PLease share your thoughts, likes, dislikes, and any thing else you would like to share. *cough* ribbon nominations *cough* B PS: On the Horizon is an Internal Scrim and then something special afterwards.

I am sure Fenix will upload them to Wegame if you buy him some cookies.

Re: TFR vs TG part 2
Well it's a shame TG didn't manage to get the win, but knowing the TG team, I'm sure it was a hard fought battle all the way to the end. Good job, and good work to all who participated.
Wish I could of been there, Spade.

Re: TFR vs TG part 2
I don't know where the backstab reg went... I was getting about 10~20% reg; whatever it was it was certainly an all-time low.
Dustbowl was fun; everyone seemed to be on the ball except for myself and we avoided the 25-minute Act III garbage. Hydro was lol. The worst thing is that means that not only did we need sudden death, but even if we had it the round would just be an exercise in waiting for sudden death. Mach was a red-assed beatdown. I spent most of my time dying to demo (which is a big red circle around how much fail I was riding) so I didn't catch much of what happened, but it seems there was a huge gaping defensive-hole the size of a hallway in BLU.

It was an extremely hard fight and a lot of fun. Thanks for hosting this time. BTW, you've listed 9 people. Who was your 10th?

Ah that explains it then.

Re: TFR vs TG part 2
It was a blast. I think in Mach the problem was moving the heavy away from the spiral staircase. We took a decision to move towards offense. If I had stuck there I would have been able to spam my minigun and mop up any incoming spys. Hindsight however is 20/20 and at that time there was not a lot of spy activity.
Actually, the first point they got was from an ubered scout! He even stopped to take out a dispenser before moving down to the intel. I probably should have jumped down to catch them on the way out as soon as I saw them making their way up the staircase. Again 20/20. Lots of fun though. Thanks |

Re: TFR vs TG part 2
Some things we could have improved on:
Sudden death on Hydro? Having a designated leader Not shouting into the mic Not shouting into the mic at someone that is alive when only you and another person are dead Not blaming other people Not saying "I told you so" Not getting upset, and instead just having fun Coordinating better I added the last one on there because on Mach4, we pretty much got steamrolled the same way multiple times. One of the caps was simply me telling Magna that we could try making a spy chain of one person sapping and clearing the way whilst the other grabs teh docz and running, which ended up working splendidly. I'm not saying that it was a bad game what-so-ever, but hindsight is 20/20, so we can definitely improve. Edit: How do we add the ribbon to our signature? Re: TFR vs TG part 2
Good Points Fish.
Just remember that we played a group of like minded individuals. Most of them are still TG members, but fly the TFR tag in game. Even after all of your suggestions I am sure it would have been a dog fight none the less. I do agree with most of your suggestions, however some people just get excited when they are playing. Just keep in mind that word said in the heat of battle are always not thought out properly. Don't take them to heart as I am sure that half of what was said was not intentional. I think it was more of people thinking out loud than criticism. Also keep in mind that we had zero practice time. I think what we produced reflected that, but I was impressed with our "on the fly" thinking and overall game plan. I think we were beat by a well prepared and highly skilled unit. CTF is not a strong suit of ours. I am sure TFR will be up for a rematch and I am sure we will be better prepared. I take away a better understanding of where our expertise lacks and a few suggestions on how we can improve. Above all I had a blast even though we lost. So are you willing to take up the lead? B
