Re: TG vs Focused Gaming

Just make sure you pull the pin on the grenade so I don't have to watch the carnage...

Well another day has passed and the Scim is already in the rear view mirror. Fenix has reminded us of some very important points...to have fun.

Remember those of us that showed up or answered the 9th inning call certainly embody what TG is about. Heck paster even changed tags for the match...(just don't tell Root) Even though we got it handed to us pretty good, I am still proud of the team we fielded..just not the results. I was even willing to run our seven against their 12...I know..I know...it would have been over even quicker, but hopefully you will see my point.

A new Scrim is forming on the horizon so stay tuned....

That's a good idea. Having things out in the open would also allow for players not directly involved in the scrim to still garner decent information on how it's run and possibly get them more active in future scrims. Looking from the outside in, all I can really see is that there was a scrim and TG got served. With more commentary before the match, forum readers could have a much better idea about what's going on.

The only real requirement I had for the whole scrim idea is that all final decisions go through Bc. Anything else is left up for him to decide and I'm sure he'll take any help he's offered.

We could really benefit from a standardized form of communication. Everyone playing TF2 should have Steam chat accessible, but Teamspeak might be the better alternative. I'll leave details up to people more involved as I spent the night of the scrim plowing through a weeks worth of homework.

Re: TG vs Focused Gaming

I'd like to thank FG for coming out and playing that debacle with us thursday. I'm sure all of the TG guys that showed up appreciated your patience and understanding. Thank you.

Now, Thursday's Scrim was my first scrim as a member of TG. And to be brutally honest, it was a (expletive deleted) embarressment. That is with all the technical difficulties aside. Obviously there were some communication mix-ups, personally I didn't get the password to the server till 5 minutes after we were supposed to start. But even with that, I (as should everyone else participating) had the scrim team group on my steam, and a simple message to BC2ID fixed my password problem. So I can't figure out how some people can use that as an excuse to why they no-showed. Secondly, the general discussion forum has a thread regarding the scrim stating THURSDAY, I got PM'd telling me it was thursday, and I confirmed back it was thursday. So how people got the date/time wrong boggles my mind.

The whole thing seemed horribly organized to begin with, and I'm not blaming anyone for that. I was able to make on time to the game using nothing but the information given and a little common sense. Although I do have one thing to say in regards to Skud's "Orange List". I was there the entire game but, I did recieve a message from steam saying the "Scrim was going to be delayed due to technical difficulties." I almost stopped playing then because I assumed we were going to try another night but I had already waited almost 2 hours so I hopped back on the server to find out more. All I'm saying is we can't really fault those people who left before we trulty got underway, because I was under the impression the scrim was off when I signed back on.

Anyway, I'll cool my jets in a couple days. I had gotten really excited about this scrim the past couple weeks. I was looking forward to a competive game playing side by side you guys, and when I showed up to see 12 |F| players against BC2ID, Skud, Strag and myself I was a little disheartended to say the least.

BC2ID and Skud, thanks for organizing things the best you could. It's a shame the wires kept getting crossed with some people. Skud, I'm not sure if you were referencing me or not, but I did volunteer to captain the team as a plan B if no one else would. I didn't think I had really been here long enough, and was respected enough that people would want me as captain. However, if this wasn't your ball, I wish I had known because I would of gave it a shot. That being said, you did a great job, probably better then I could of anyway.

Closing, I want to thank Maja for coming out, and the rest of the people who came to help bail us out. Thank Focused Gaming again, you played great and hopefully you'll be willing to give us a rematch some time in the future. I think if TG wasn't out numbered and we had ALL of our big guns there, we could definetly made it one hell of a fight.

Re: TG vs Focused Gaming

We got housed fair and square. I play on Focused server when we are empty and the truth is those guys practice together A LOT. and you know what they say. Practice makes perfect. Maybe if we can get some more constant hours together we will put up a better fight next time. My score in the first game was 0! I could even get my gun spinning long enough to kill anyone. Nice match Focused.

My apologies , I had meant to show up..but I had some last minutes changed for RL..

I meant to tell BC but I hadn't gotten around to it.

Thats right, I wasn't involved in that at all, but if I had been, thats what I would have said. Thats what reserves are for.
