Question TF2 Manual

Is there a manual out there for the game. Did i miss it upon installation. It took 5 hours to dl'ed and i wanted to play because it was late but i dont remember seeing the manual. If not a few questions.

whats the uber charge? How do you do it?
THe spy sapper...how does it work. I think i did it once but wasn't sure. Do you just have to stand there and hold the button?
For the spy when you are diguised does it show that classes gun or the weapon you have out.

Re: TF2 Manual

You know, I really have never looked for the manual so I don't know if there is one supplied. However, TF2 is very easy to pick up if you've ever played an online FPS style game. The basics are pretty much the same however each class does have it's specific "money" abitity that does need some practice to use well.

1.) Uber Charge is done by the Medic. You build it up by healing members of your team and not dying.

Once the charge is full, you can grant yourself and the player you're healing a 15 second Invulnerable period. You deploy it by hitting the right mouse button once you are fully charged. It's useful for breaking up the enemy teams push, killing sentries, doing a Control Point rush, etc.

Just have to be careful when and on who that you use it. Most time's I'll wait till the person I'm with (usually a heavy, soldier or pyro) to call for it, but sometimes you have to use it when you feel it's needed.

If you die before you get fully charged, you have to start the process over again. Also, the more damage a person takes while being healed, the faster your Uber will build up.

2.) Spy Sapper is a deployable item killer. You do not have to hold down the mouse button once it's placed and it will destroy any Engineer deployable it's on unless the Engineer stops it by "healing" the item in question.

3.) When a spy is disguised, he looks exactly like the class he's disguised as, weapons and all. However, you have to keep in mind that you also take the name of a random enemy player as well. So if you ever see someone run by you with your name, KILL HIM!!!!

He's an enemy spy.

Hope that helps, fire off some more or just check the forums to find what you need. Waffle and others have written some great class guides that will answer a lot of class specific questions.

Re: TF2 Manual

Spies hold the class' default gun (gun slot 1) when disguised.

Re: TF2 Manual

Thx for the help.

On the sappper when the white wire frame that looks like a sapper is on the sentry does that mean it is working. I may just need to test this more.

White wire frame shows which engineer structure the sapper will go on when you click your fire button. So when you see it you are in range of putting a sapper on. Also you don't lose your disguise while sapping (if you didn't notice already). You have an unlimited amount of sappers, so you can constantly throw them on structures even after the engineer has wrenched them off.

First time I saw this, I thought, it was a bug.

The knife hurt, though, so now I'm a bit more sceptic about others being me.

It's important to note that unlike normal classes, there will be no fire animations or reload animations or even taunts. Also if they press the v key their comm will not show up. Use any of these to check for spys.

When someone says "Comm check" press the v key even if you don't have a mic. Its a bit easier than requiring a pyro every time.

Stroll through the Developers commentary as it runs through a lot of the basics.

Re: TF2 Manual

Don't know, but it gives you a good understanding of map design, goals and how kits were designed to be used.
