    About the server

After reading the other thread with fenix talking about the server I was thinking on how we could try to keep it full during the day. I know I am new but I usually play in the daytime and would love to get some playtime in with the TG's. Even some nights it slows down a little. So here is what I came up with,

First, I am just wondering why the server is a 22 slot server and not 24. When I am on in the daytime the servers that I usually am seeing full and playing on are usually 24 person servers. I have found a few clan servers that I pub on because they have good teamwork.

Second, I know this could likely be done manually but does the server allow you to easily see how many people left on a certain map. It seems that granary isn't the most popular but it could just be a coincidence. I know way back when I ran a TFC server that you couldn't easily find that information out.

Last, I have already been on a server running a server mod similar to the old ones in tfc (map voting et all) and it might help or not to try one out if those who are playing want to change the map. On the flip side, I know that it would annoy me to death sometimes and I would kick some players who would harass the server with map votes.

    Well thats all I got,

I'm all for new ideas. And being "new" to TG doesn't exactly lower my expectations of a player. We were all pubs at TG at one point in time.

It's part of the reserved slot system for TG supporting members. Since valve has a 24 players cap on "maxplayers," we're forced the set maxplayers to 23 and use one slot for reserved slot access to keep the teams even.

I personally have an issue with some of the stock TF2 maps. CTF_2fort seems to be the most popular right now, but even it's not the epitome of teamwork.

We currently run a program called BAT (Basic Admin Tool). Right now there are no rights inherent to players other than the ability to kick for a reserved slot if you're a supporting members. BUT, we do have the ability to run mapvotes if we see fit. I am currently considering this ability for both stock and custom maps.

Welcome to TG and thanks for the posts. I hope you hang around to help make TG:TF2 a great place to game.
