Medic Achievement-Whore Thread
Registered Participants:
Fish, MC, Gidget, and YOU?
Automatic
Bedside Manner: Be healing someone when he gets an achievement. Free with Group Health.
Double-Blind Trial: Über within eight seconds of another über. Free with Group Health.
Family Practice: Über a steamfriend. Earned on number ten. Just playing at TG will raise it naturally, so we get this started while whoring and finish it in the pub.
Grand Rounds: Heal people who call. Awarded on number two-hundred. Can't whore it unless you're bored enough to grind it.
House Call: Join a server with a steamfriend and give him a charge. Again, freebie on the pub.
Hypocritical Oath: Probably can earn it during FYI I am a Medic, easy if that doesn't work.
Intern: Earned while whoring Specialist.
Milestones: These just trigger the gizmo unlocks. 12, 24, 36; not counting the milestones themselves.
Sawbones: They dropped it to five saw strikes in a row. Freebie it during Placebo Effect.
Surgical Prep: Charge during setup. How do I held Mouse 1?
Easy
Autopsy Report: Frag, stand, taunt, F5. No problem.
Consultation: Earn five assists by healing a combat medic at work. Boring but do-able. Might be worked into another achievement.
Group Health: Three übers at a time. I'm guessing all three get it simultaneously, and ought to trigger Bedside Manner and Double-Blind Trial with it.
FYI I am a Medic: Kill five spies who've called for medic. No problem, just take turns.
Specialist: Heal 10,000 points. Whoreable with a demo or soldier, Intern is triggered at 7,000.
Medical Intervention: Save a teammate about to crater. One of us goes demo, then switches with someone.
Placebo Effect: Kill five people while you have an über in your pocket. No problem. Extra Credit by earning it while doing Peer Review.
Play Doctor: Go Medic on a medic-free team when someone calls medic. Should be as easy as it looks.
Second Opinion: Über two people at once. I'm guessing we each just charge up next to the other two, drop it, and cross the streams.
Bothersome
Big Pharma: Crawl up Dude/Rocks' ass and don't die for a while. Slow to whore, probably best to just TG-pub until it comes to you.
Doctor-Assisted Homocide: Earn assist-revenges. Not worth whoring, though you may let stupid spies cut you in the pub to get them on your Nemesis list so your Dude/Rocks can mow him down and earn your cred.
Does it Hurt When I Do This?: Needle scouts. Best whored on an instant-respawn server.
Infernal Medicine: Put out buddhist protesters. Needing one-hundred, this can be whored with a pyro-medic-afk triangle, but it may be too slow to be worthwhile. Probably best to just pub it and whore it to the finish line at around #87.
Peer Review: Bonesaw 50 Medics. Medic Melee in Hall of Death? I think so.
Preventative Medicine: Über a teammate to block a point capture. No problem.
Trauma Queen: Three übers and five assists in five minutes. Should be do-able with three players, one earning the achievement off of a scout as the free kill and anything handy to frag him.
Triage: Über someone within a second of being hit by a crit explosive. Might be tough to co-ordinate with lag-factor. Demo stickmines would be easiest to stage, but rockets may be easier to time.
Earned the Hard Way
All the Assist Class in doing X somethings during one über: Needs a bunch of people so it's hard to stage. Find a friendly pub guy if you see an opportunity. The Engineer one might be whorable with three players, though.
Do it for the Übersaw
Chief of Staff: Earn one megaheal in lifetime stats. Whorable thanks to mod servers; but at one million instead of ten, you could just wait it out if you play Medic normally.
First, Do No Harm: Be team-leader with at least five teammates without killing anyone. Perhaps this is the one skill-based professional-medic award.
Quadruple Bypass: Heal someone who's getting ræped. I expect it's a freebie you get sooner or later, probably as BLU on Dustbowl.
Ubi Concordia, Ibi Victoria: Kill five men on a control point during one inning. Pilot-fish a RED Demo until it happens. Gravel Pit is a good bet.

Re: Medic Achievement-Whore Thread
Whoring achievements at the expense of TG gameplay is punishable. No reason we can't hop on Gidget's server and unlock most of the toolkit and let the ones that must be earned be earned normally on the pub server. If you read my commentary, I address the issue assuming only we-three's presense in a server.

Re: Medic Achievement-Whore Thread
Yea, the actual skill-based achievements are the ones we'll strive for during TG gameplay.

Re: Medic Achievement-Whore Thread
If every once in a while you try and get one (once a day) I dont see how it can affect gameplay much. I mean, if you do uber a scout and he does kill 4 people I would consider that a good use of an uber. All Im saying is its not like you can call someone out for punching 4 people while ubered. . . can you?

Re: Medic Achievement-Whore Thread
The rare times I play heavy, I always go for the KO. Which is funny on Dustbowl when a medic throws an über at me and I switch from shot or mini to the Knux of Justice.
