I'd wonder if you were pushing spyware on us, but you've got 1,332 posts. Not some new guy trying to spread viruses. Unless you are trying to kill us all out. What is it? (*the file I mean)

.dem files are demos created using the in-game recorder for Source/Orange Box.
If Magna was cool, he would have replayed the demo himself using wegame and uploaded it for us.
As it stands, you have to put the .dem file in your /tf folder and play it in game.

If Valve was cool they'd have an AVI-raw writer I could work with. ヱガメ fails because it doesn't work, and more-doesn't-work on Windows 2000. Besides, this was uploaded for Valve -- a .DEM eliminates the loss and mutation of information inherent in conversion from an event list to a lossy video container.

They do have one. Play your demo, play just before the part you want to record (you can edit it later), hide the demoui, go into console and type in "startmovie filename avi (filename is whatever you want the file to be called, without an extention). A popup will appear asking codec, then you get out of the menu. Your sound will cut out but thats normal. Then when you have what you want type in "endmovie" and it'll be in your steam tf2 folder.

Actually, what happened was the following:
• Cable was out for half the morning.
• Creative Labs Soundcard that I should never have installed even as a test bluescreens my ass off.
• Bluescreens, probably related to said soundcard.
• Opportunity to nuke from orbit.
So, I nuked from orbit, and cleaned out (threw away most of the contents of) some boxes I had stored in my apartment.

Kludgy, but it works. Now I can start posting all that awesome stuff in my gig of recordings.
O WAIT. Valve broke demo compatibility a couple patches back, and while my warp demo still works (though a few details play differently), all that cool stuff like that just-perfect-for-teaching-how-to-catch-a-hacker reel are a loss.
HEUG AVI for you kids who are afeared of creepy DEM extensions. XivD, 17.3MB, 800×600.

I sometimes get glitch also, only on those stairs. Though you probably would've killed the soldier and gotten away somehow...

... it isn't the stairs' fault. This is the crap that has had me yelling BAT four times per minute for the last three months. It happens all the time all over the place.

That's just the only time I get it. Since BAT is autonomous and hates you, it probably happens in spawn for you.
