field of view
This question is for you techies out there. In the advanced video settings there is a setting called field of view. Why would I not have this cranked to max? Why is the default set at the middle? Thanks

Re: field of view
Well I talked with Magna about this before, if you have the slider higher you will be able to see more to the left and right of your screen, however targets will appear smaller. If you have it lower everything will appear "zoomed in".
I experimented with this and found I like my FOV maxed out. As a sniper it helps me see more of the field to assess threats and I can have an easier time seeing enemies trying to flank me.

Re: field of view
As FOV increases:
• Objects before you seem smaller/more-distant.
• Objects beside you seem wider and distorted.
• Objects moving from side to front to side seem to warp as they shift between the two states above.
• The perceptual viewpoint, which is a term I'm making up and am about to define, the place where a camera would be if it were to see on screen the same FOV as the renderer is putting on-screen, moves closer to the screen. This is important because people succeptable to motion sickness or headaches when gaming may be able to reduce or exacerbate their symptoms with an FOV change.
• View models sometimes expose bad/invisible polygons that the modeler didn't expect to be in the field.
• You kill more spies.

Re: field of view
It happens from time to time. I try guess which players (at least by class) are noticing me when I drop cloak nearby.
