Re: Server never full

I play TF2 on occasion and there are certain weeks where I will play it a lot more than PR even. I always check the TG server when I start up TF2 but nobody is on. If someone sends out a notice to seed then I will definitely join.

That aside...

I don't know... I just dont feel the tingle right now when I get into TF2. I'll play Thursday night, hopefully. I just got so burnt out when seeding DAY AFTER DAY AFTER NIGHT AFTER NIGHT. I'd seed, get my ass handed to me all day, and never receive a thank you letter.

And then when players decide they suddenly know networking and how we should run the server, I did get quite offended.

I don't know about you guys, but I have other things in life than TF2 every night. Other games, other things to do, books, cancelled TV shows only available on torrents..etc.

It's not the quantity of full-server nights - It's the quality! I mean, you guys may love full servers as long as you get kills, but personally a lot of why I play here is because of some of the old TG regulars.

I mean OLD TG regulars - what was around when this game launched here at TG.

Admittedly when the game first came out I didn't play at TG as much as I did -F-. Then one night, TheFenix wanted help seeding. I answered and had a blast.

To be honest, maybe I just miss certain characters on our server. I could care less how often I play this game - what makes this game special for me is the people I play(ed) it with.

I miss you* guys.

When I look through my friendslist of those that play TF2, it's now a mixed group of various tags and other communities - I don't like that. I miss the days when there were no weird tags I had to try to keep up with. Heck, this week there was a new one: "@epsilon." What the heck. Epsilon has no meanings (as far as I know) that even apply to gaming. I. Don't. Get. It.

Maybe I don't have enough time to keep up with all the silly trends that occur now-a-days.

So lets just set a date - Thursday night, tonight by technicality. 8PM EST. Magna will be there, since his tennis lessons aren't until 10/11PM.

*you - you know who your are.
I know what you mean when you say quantity over quality
Although i have no friends who play this game i do understand what you mean
I played counter strike which has a has a very active community each night
Me having only played counter strike befor am used to having a full server of TG who understand how we operate and play that way.
Its not that i absolutely have to have a full server to play or anything
But when i check the steam group and i see 20 or see people are on
It makes you think what great games could be had in the good 'ole TG server that needs some dusting off

I have this slight feeling that if someone doesn't explain "... Tennis Lessons," soon I might geek out and hurt someone.

Re: Server never full

It's pretty simple. I started a policy of quitting gaming at 11 or 12PM, as to be able to get up earlier in the morning, and prodded for a reason, I said ... Tennis Lessons. Fish later got grounded for splashing outside of his bowl, and wants to be cool and enigmatic like I am, so he steals my bit.

Re: Server never full

Actually I really do have stuff going on, and "... Tennis Lessons" isn't too much of a stretch as long as you are liberal with the definition of lessons and well...just kinda throw away the tennis part. But no, I didn't get grounded or whatever you want to call it; I just have a full schedule.

Re: Server never full

I remember the good old days when twelve year olds didn't have ulcers, jet-lag, or power lunches.

I don't have any of those things. Only when I travel do I get jet-lag, but I haven't traveled since Spring. Interesting Fact: In a study, researchers found Viagra to cure jet-lag in mice.

Fair enough, fair enough. I suppose I should start taking ... Bowling Lessons soon. (You see what I did thar?)
*wants to be cool and enigmatic like Magna*

Sorry to hear that you got grounded, Fish.

Well since you mentioned my name...I gave notice when I left. If you check my steam ID you will see it read "the suck" due to the ever changing demands of my employer. Not because I don't want to play, but because I don't have the time to give back to the community. Would anyone want someone who was "in charge" by title only? I think not. I think you are still an Admin so that means you are partly "in charge", time to stop blaming me and start looking in the mirror. This title did not fail because I left, the organization did not have to stop because I left.

Keep in mind that we are in the middle of summer and people do other things. The title is NOT DEAD here!! Give it a chance and add a little water to the seeds and watch it grow.

Time for a group hug everyone.

Lots of love and kisses....

Re: Server never full

Magna is now the acting GO of TG:TF2. That is all. I don't have time right now for a gushing speech.
