Smile Server never full

I noticed that the server is hardly ever full or even has people in it
Is it just my timing?
Or does the server just never fill up?

Re: Server never full

We used to have nightly attendence. Then there was some drama and half the regs started playing elsewhere and now no one plays here except out of pity.

Re: Server never full

If you haven't already, I recommend you join the TG TF2 Steam Group. You can then hassle one of the officer's to create an announcement about seeding the server.

Re: Server never full

Ok
I just joined the steam group so you administrators should be hearing from me
I never hear comms like TG in other servers
Or a mature environment that is extremely hard to find
Oh and thanks for replies in the first 5 minutes

Drama? I stopped joining for a while only because of the lag and no-reg headshots (now its okay so I'm more than willing to help seed). I don't know why everyone else stopped seeding.

Herd mentality. You left, so AJ left, so everyone who played when AJ played left, and then everyone who had any of the aforementioned on their Steam commie list went to whichever server was now being populated and that buried TG.

Re: Server never full

Well I guess we should start seeding every night then, and perhaps put up an event for that.

Re: Server never full

It seems to me that the last two times I asked for seeding, it seeded readily, and we had amazing games. Now the object is to just keep doing it. Unfortunately I'm off at my mothers house, sans usable computer. It's up to you guys, take some initiative.

Re: Server never full

The problem really is that there is no direction because I dont even know who runs this thing anymore. Used to be we got seed notices all the time and then all of the sudden nothing. Now it seems we need to pressure Admins to get things going on a nightly basis. Who is in charge these days anyway?

CStealth is right, when TG is on, its ON. But when its off, it stays that way for quite some time. A shame cause Id love to play there every night (when the wife is not causing me AFKs every 5 seconds).

I'm practically no longer available to play anymore at all, but I can get people to go to TG when I need to.

No one runs it anymore. Cid left months ago and put no one in charge.

Fish got grounded?

Re: Server never full

For some reason top brass does not want us to have the obvious candidate for Game Officer.

That aside...

I don't know... I just dont feel the tingle right now when I get into TF2. I'll play Thursday night, hopefully. I just got so burnt out when seeding DAY AFTER DAY AFTER NIGHT AFTER NIGHT. I'd seed, get my ass handed to me all day, and never receive a thank you letter.

And then when players decide they suddenly know networking and how we should run the server, I did get quite offended.

I don't know about you guys, but I have other things in life than TF2 every night. Other games, other things to do, books, cancelled TV shows only available on torrents..etc.

It's not the quantity of full-server nights - It's the quality! I mean, you guys may love full servers as long as you get kills, but personally a lot of why I play here is because of some of the old TG regulars.

I mean OLD TG regulars - what was around when this game launched here at TG.

Admittedly when the game first came out I didn't play at TG as much as I did -F-. Then one night, TheFenix wanted help seeding. I answered and had a blast.

To be honest, maybe I just miss certain characters on our server. I could care less how often I play this game - what makes this game special for me is the people I play(ed) it with.

I miss you* guys.

When I look through my friendslist of those that play TF2, it's now a mixed group of various tags and other communities - I don't like that. I miss the days when there were no weird tags I had to try to keep up with. Heck, this week there was a new one: "@epsilon." What the heck. Epsilon has no meanings (as far as I know) that even apply to gaming. I. Don't. Get. It.

Maybe I don't have enough time to keep up with all the silly trends that occur now-a-days.

So lets just set a date - Thursday night, tonight by technicality. 8PM EST. Magna will be there, since his tennis lessons aren't until 10/11PM.

*you - you know who your are.

Re: Server never full

I spend about 20 minutes at the start of every session wandering the TG server in the hopes that someone will join, but that only occasionally pays off. I only really get to play 2 or 3 times a week anyway.

I don't even have a backburner yet.

I'm working on this.

Re: Server never full

I sign off at 11 because of the combined influence of non-crap syndicated television programmes and the fact I need to go to sleep so I can get up so I can attend ... Tennis Lessons. Far too many times I either missed quality television, which is quite difficult to find, or stayed up until 4AM or beyond, which does not contribute to a bright and sunny Me a few hours later.
