Re: It's over!
All because the public cried big crocodile tears cause they were too lame as players to compensate. Doesnt really matter though. When I'm teabagging you with my backburner out, you'll know it never really mattered anyway.

Re: It's over!
I don't play enough TF2 to even know what that means. but the achivements and extra guns are too time-consuming to hunt for me, they should've just made it available after a certain amout of playtime if you ask me.

Re: It's over!
Actually, with the Pyro, they kinda did. Unlike the medic, you will get the achievements if you just play the pyro for an extended period of time. Its not like the medic "heal the left foot of a scout with the letter "K" in their name while you have 5.2pts of health" acheivements.
Its funny, I played last night and actually had some of my better rounds as the pyro. (and I did play after Magna realized that pyro's weren't going to be nerfed until after a reboot.)"Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want and deserve to get it good and hard." - H. Re: It's over!
You can bind keys to change loadout without going to the menus; but yeah, it's the same as the method as with the medic gear. The requirements were lowered with Pyro, and the Medic requirements were lowered to match a week or two after Pyro was released.

Re: It's over!
All that's over is the Backburner. Scout or Spy now do the same job more efficiently imo.

Re: It's over!
One still needs 10, 15 and 25 achivements to unlock items i found out. That's still alot of weird scenarios to do and be in if you ask me. Or maybe i'm lazy?
Some of these things will need hours and hours on as pyro to "get lucky".

Re: It's over!
10, 16 and 22, minus the milestone awards, which you get automagically, putting the real numbers at 10, 15, and 20. 10 is not hard to get with either class. 20 requires dedicated play of the class and possibly some light farming, although with the pyro achievements you're bound to get most of them if you just play often enough.

Re: It's over!
If you farm properly you can farm them all in short order. Setting up your own dedicated server will go a long way.

Re: It's over!
Achievement boxes can work, but I found them to usually be a waste of time. Teamwork with TG members and private server were the most effective in my experience.
But to each his own.

Re: It's over!
Or, and this may sound crazy, play the pyro in game. After (mostly) normal playing, I got my 3rd unlock within 25 hours of normal playing.
If you insist on circumventing the proper achievement system, there is a program out there that will unlock all the achievements for both medic and pyro, so no need to waste time 'farming' achievements.
Really though, aside from pulling a hadouken in-game, the behaviors needed to win pyro achievements are much more in line with normal game events than the medic pack.Last edited by Beatnik; 07-31-2008 at 05:41 PM.
