    TG is not skill based.

It's not elevating TG to the level of "pro gaming", it's just taking whoever wants to participate and fielding a team.

TG most certainly is skill based. It doesn't matter how good your tactics are if your soldiers don't know how to fire the gun correctly. It certainly doesn't matter how well you can coordinate a team if your team dies the instant they poke their head around the corner. Without individual skill, a team is nothing.

Along with the fact that fish is correct, this wouldn't be elevating TG to the 'pro gaming' level. It would merely put who I think are very skilled players, against other very skilled players.

It'd probably be just another scrim, except against people who make a living off of playing scrims. Hah.

Pro gaming is just egos. It strips the fun out of the game - I've played in Halo 2 tourney's, it wasn't fun.

But hey, if you can convince a crazy bunch of guys, go on ahead...

http://pro-am.thecgs.com/ The sign-up has just started, anyone interested? I don't think I'm anywhere near good enough to compete, but I'm willing to help you guys out and get you set up as much as I can. (heck, maybe I'll even try)

Apparently season 1 is free, so no expensive sign up fee! Yay!

    08/01/08 Season 1 Registration Opens
    09/03/08 Season 1 Registration Closes
    09/10/08 Season 1 Begins
    11/07/08 Season 1 Playoffs Begin

    There's your timeline, boys.

EDIT: Aw heck. I'm not 18. I can't create or participate in a team.

Matches for TF2 are 6v6, competing against the top TF2 players in North America, for 40 thousand dollars worth of prizes.

Just make a new account and say you're 18. Magna or someone can fill out the forms and get the money when we win.

We're happy to play again. Scrimming is good for both communities to have an event to rally around, and the last match was fun.

Feel free to shoot me a PM here or over at -F- if you want to set something up.

With no honesty to compare it to, how can there be dishonesty? This is the internet.

Yup, thats me you see grabbing the blue intel and then getting immediately wasted by the SG.

That round was completely stacked by the way. Every single one of the regs except me was on blue. I had 2 people with no sound, 2 with no mic, and one that had never played. So thats a total of 5 non-functional players, one that was half decent as spy (except he never actually sapped anything or went for the intel) and myself. I was less than impressed.

    Do I win?

Be nice. It's my first somewhat-serious piece of writing since school ended.
