Sounds like a one-in-a-hundred prob, just like backstabs from the front, or BF2142's butterknife syndrome.

Anyone notice the newest addition to slowing down backstabs? It does the quickstab animation, then immediately goes to the slow animation, THEN factors in whether or not it wants to kill. ~20 seconds.

I got back stabed SO many times last night and all of them resulted in me dead on the focused gamer server. It may be a problem with our server cause they seem to be registering ok there.

One night I played on MD and everything counted. A week later I played on MD and every stab was a failstab. I do not have the information necessary to investigate the issue, and Valve doesn't seem to answer my technical questions.
