Server has newer protocol that your client (1010)

When I first tried to join the TG TF2 server, I got the error message "The server has a newer client (38)". Now every time I try to join, I get the message "The server has a newer protocol that your client (1010)". Steam says that they can't help with trouble with individual servers,
(!$@#) so is there anyone that can help me?

I don't think there is a TG TF2 server. They stopped quite some time ago.

If they did, it would be pretty irresponsible of them to leave it in the server list.

Yeah, pretty sure it is offline - not sure why its still on the server list but I guess someone just forgot to remove it. We have no admins anymore, anyway.

The server IP you are trying to connect to is now hosting the TG Left4Dead VS Adv server. That's why you're getting a protocol error.

    I...am...so....sorry.
Let me help you. There is a small network of servers that I really like playing with. The atmosphere is great in most cases.

    ST- Screaming Turtles: 206.123.125.66:27015
TFR- Task Force Ranger (tighter rules): 69.9.43.104:27015
    MD- Mathdorks: 205.234.203.101:27015
    |TCO|- Tacitcal No-Crits: 208.100.45.50:27015

My understanding is that TFR branched from TG at some point, ST branched from TFR, then MD branched from ST.

MD didn't really branch from TFR, per se, but they were a side-project by some members. ST branched off from MD and TFR.
