first impressions?

me and kebab played tonight and we both got around 15 achievements

personally i love the new animations for the back stab and the new voice's

don't like the new weapons unlock, its totally random and you can end up picking stuff up that you already have

I haven't tried it yet myself, but the full game is now free from 21st to 25th of May. So everyone can try it!

Basic feelings are great, but some achievements were bugged. Luckily now that there are 2 classes that are getting updated and you can get unlocks by picking them gameplay is less weighted on 1 class.

Same. I'm not a big Spy/Sniper fan girl and I don't have the "gotta catch 'em all" attitude towards achievements, to it could and will take me a while to get them.

Haven't had the chance to play yet. Well, I have had the chance, but all I want to do is play Spy and stab some Engies (damn 'em), and I know everyone and their tennis coach will be playing Spy or Sniper. Hopefully will be able to farm some achievements tomorrow.

Not quite, it's like playing WoW now, you kill people and hope you get new items out of the deal. Unfortunately sometimes you end up getting "new" items that you already have, which to put it bluntly, sucks. For example, last night in one round, i "found" thje kritzkreig and the ubersaw, which I of course earned months ago, then I "earned" the ambassador (new spy pistol) which I fdound really funny as over the course of my 400 hours playing tf2 over the last 19 months, I've only spent 4 of them as a spy.

The "new" map hoodoo is terrible, and I'm not sure what to think of the new double payload map as of yet, I've only played it once.

This is the kind of update I would have expected from a ubisoft game (a.k.a. crap game), not a valve game.

I am not liking the new update at all. What is the purpose of those damn class achievements if there is no reward for them?

The stupidest thing Valve has done:

Taken away the Milestones. Without them there is no point to the achievements, and you don't have to work to get new weapons! I really hope they remedy this.

Well, a lot of people have been complaining about stat padders and people who downloaded this program to unlock everything. So, they just wanted everyone to stop complaining but this caused more problems than it solve, it seems.

I got the Huntsman bow and the Medic's hat tonight. It is a random drop thing, so don't count on it to give you what you want.

I agree, it is unfair towards those who have fairly earned their achievements! I like random drop system as I never had items as my main purpose on doing achievements anyway, and some of these are really fun, especially those that are included in the ''australian rules (be polite, efficient etc.)

I got the sniper pee jar, but I still don't get any achievements for revealing spies with it, I've also missed couple others but gained some that I didn't think I did O.o
