Must... resist... urge... to...
...stick my head a desk drawer and slam it repeatedly until the pain goes away.
Ok, please, someone tell me why this always happens to me.
I join a team with a few exceptions I will generally play an under represented class. Then after about 5 minutes I look around and it seems half the team is that class. So I switch to another class. 5 minutes, half the team is that class. WTH?!?
Just now, Steel. Join up, no snipers. Not my best class but with the Huntsman I'm having fun with it so why not? By the middle of the round I looked, 4 snipers. I top the list of snipers. Oooook, whatever. A little later I decide enough is enough, check the list again. No spies. Hey, I love playing spy, especially on Steel. Switch over an in the first 30 seconds nail 2 backstabs and break a rush for E. 2 minutes later I die and am watching, another spy. What!? Check the classes... 3 spies which means 4, with me.
WHY!? Why do people do that? And always to a class I switch to.
I go Pyro when there are 0, within 2-3 minutes there's 4+. Go engie and everyone decides it's time to uberturle and we get 5 engies (and 4 of them suck, seriously). I swear if I went spectator 2/3rds of both teams would follow me.

Re: Must... resist... urge... to...
It's probably people joining the game and wanting to snipe/spy it up. Everybody loves thouse classes so you can't be surprised when you noticing the team filling up with them.
But yeah, I know how you feel. Being the only heavy with my KGB out, beating down pyros, screaming "RUN COWARDS!!!" the entire time. Then noticing a heavy following me around with his minigun. Oh wait, I just got backtabbed...Nevermind it was a spy.

Re: Must... resist... urge... to...
Nono, it isn't just sniper and spy. Those were just examples from the most recent round. In one round I literally hopped classes at least 6 times, never to the same class, and every time I hopped to a class with 0 in it only to have 4 others in that class in 3-4 minutes. Engineer, Soldier, Pyro, Spy, Medic, Heavy. Something like that.
In fact after posting the above I hopped back on a different server, 0 medics. I go medic to help out. Less than 2 minutes later, 4 medics. >.<

Re: Must... resist... urge... to...
I've noticed the exact same thing.
I think it's because they see you being succesfull with the class and they want to do the same thing. I've joined mid round game and be first to join as heavy, push enemies back from our base to theirs and see that we have four heavies on the team.
It's a game of rock paper scissors pretty much. Pyro can't beat heavy head on, but heavies haven't got a chance against snipers or spies if they can't spot them. Spies however haven't got a chance against pyro when spychecked.
Heavy is likely to be succesfull against team where there's no spies or snipers, spy is likely to be succesfull against team that has no pyros. Some people see what class is succesfull and join as that, but in the process they might cripple the team.|TG| Kebab-Kastike reporting for duty. | Why? Tubes! The internet is tubes!

I see this happen too. I think it's ADHD kids who notice as soon as you get a headshot or backstab and think "ooh shiney, me want".

Oh hell no. Then i would have to slam my head in the desk drawer. I cannot count the number of times I pop an uber only to have the person run away from the enemy. I try not to get uppity with people over VOIP because we're all playing our own game but, dangit, this one gets me barking like a drill sergeant, "Boy! When you get an uber you run towards the enemy and make is entrails his extrails? You get me! I've dun gone wasted one uber on your sorry posterior do NOT make me waste another or I'll have to switch teams just to bludgeon you to death with my medigun!"

Yeah, this actually has happened to me, I was retreating to get more ammo as heavy and medic suddenly übers me. Had to run to the frontlines with fists, but then it was too late...

Often I have to use my secondary weapon to fight, usually a shotgun.

Re: Must... resist... urge... to...
haha I remember when I first played tf2 I would see somebody get a great kill then I'd switch over to that class to try it. The cycle just continues there until I found out what classes I liked the most.
