After reading this topic, I though I might take a look at the trailers and stuff too and this game looks really cool! I haven't found any info except for the trailer, though. Is there any release date set for example?

It's being released at the same time as Half Life 2: Episode 2. Episode 2 will include Team Fortress 2 and Portal. You need to look for any news on the release date of Episode 2 to find the answer. Sometime this summer is the best guess.

Valve revs up the hype machine with this Steam announcement:

"In other TF2 news, stay tuned for a pretty big announcement next week. You're going to want to hold off on planning any vacations until you hear what we've got to say on Tuesday."

If it's anything less than a demo or a beta (similar to what they had with CS:S) there's gonna be some dissapointed people. Hopefully Valve is smart enough to realize this and the announcement IS actually something substantial.
