Well 11 am or Noon is still hell and gone away from 9pm EST.

Like I said, it's not really a big deal in the long run, but when you use a release date as a selling point with the implication that it will be released like every other game that come out....well, it just seems like bad PR to me.

But as gamers, we're so used to stuff like this and almost jaded that it's become accepted. Which is unfortunate if you ask me, but it is what we've allowed it to become, so doesn't do much good bitching about it anymore.

Let's just hope the game rocks.

Well it will be Tuesday in a couple of hours, I hate them

. Thinking about the fragfest upon my arrival home made my work day fly at least, only to be crushed by bitter disappointment upon arrival.

I seem to recall Day of Defeat:Source coming out at 6pm PST (9pm here in the East) so that would make sense. I remember Red Orchestra coming out earlier, like 2pm EST, but that wasn't a Valve game.

They'd save themselves a ton of trouble - like their forums getting hammered as they are currently - by giving a hint about the actual time. Many people seem to assume that they'll release it at midnight, and then look for any signs the game is coming out the rest of the day. Without giving a definite time it will be out, they could say "It definitely won't be out prior to 6pm PST" or something.

How DARE they give us a great deal, saving us 50 dollars, and then let us play a free version of the game before its due out for retail. Its a travesty.

Well it is 7pm PST and no release yet..you all are going to have to have fun without me. See you all in the AM...I hope they did not mean 9/17/08...they never did put a year on it did they...

Okay, then lets forget the fact that you are getting Half Life 2 and Episode 1, both of which you probably already have. You are then getting episode 2 valued at 29.95, Team Fortress 2 valued at 29.95 as well as Portal valued at 19.95. All of that for just 49.95 before the 5 dollar discount for pre-order. Of course, thats still forgetting those 2 games that you can "gift" to people if you already own them.

Then, on top of that deal, you get to play a beta, something you do not pay for before the October 10th release date. If anything, you are being paid 5 dollars to play the beta, so you cant really justify being pissed that it came out a few hours later than anticipated, especially since you cant say they have lied about anything yet. If the beta came out days late, id be disappointed but i wouldn't be ragging on valve.

Bomm, if they didn't offer TF2 in the bundle, how many people would have bought it?

It's ONLY a great deal because they're giving you TF2 as an early release with the date of that release listed as Monday. So it's not on the company to act in good faith and give a firm time? If it comes out at 11:59 pm, they hit the date, so no one should have an issue right?

It's semantics and almost every game company in recent memory relies on people eating what they're feed. If you're ok with that, then more power to you. I'm not. Game companies get away with murder because we as gamers allow it.

Next time you have an issue with a buggy game that really shouldn't have been released, or anything else that usually happens with games lately, just remember how you feel about this and don't complain too loudly.

Again, it's not really a HUGE issue. Just another stick on the camels back.

Just because someone doesn't share your hatred for a game company that is not releasing something in a time frame that is convenient for you that didn't need to release it in the first place is a "fanboi"?

Santa, every game lets you into the beta if you pre-order. It's par for the course now.

Not really something unique or all that special anymore.

Look, I have an issue with how they played their release date, that's really it.

And as I've stated in almost every post since then, it's all good. I feel that game companies sometimes get too much good faith leeway from gamers because they want to play the game so badly.

So you get to feel like they're doing YOU a favor. If that's the case and that's how you feel, then bonus. More power to you and have a nice day.

did you read my post? Do you really see hatred there? I bought the game. I've bought them all. Valve is a great game company and they put out awesome games. But I have an issue with how they played this one to us.

Is that hatred?

Santa came at me first or did you miss that? He was sarcastic and I felt the need to respond....then I changed my mind because I didn't want to get into this exact situation. People taking sides and pissing into the wind.

So I'm out. Have at it at my expense.
