Impression?
I have played a round so far and not much has changed other then the graphics but I still love it.
It's not a realistic game by any means but there is plenty of teamwork.RX-78-2 Gundam EFSF Protoype Close Combat Mobile Suit Armor: Luna Titanium Armament: 2x Beam Sabers, 2x 60mm Head vulcan guns 380mm Hyper bazooka, Beam Rifle, Beam Javelin, Hyper Hammer, Gundam Hammer, shield

Re: Impression?
Agreed, the game has a negative realism factor, but a perfect score in teamwork.

Re: Impression?
My first impression is I suck at the game. 20 deaths and 7 kills. Grant it I went home on my lunchbreak and didn't have much time but it was a lot of fun. Can't wait to get in the game with the 3rd and reign terror!

Re: Impression?
This game has so much teamwork you can see people cooperating on being non-cooperative and thus accidentally being cooperative.
Realism factor of zero isn't so much the big deal from where I see it, as providing you don't leverage exploits and are constantly using tactics I think it fits TG perfectly. Also, of course, the biggest benefit of it being so silly is that since it was designed to play with little regard to common sense we don't need any arguments on what is "realistic" or not.
If you're not cooperating with your team it doesn't matter how realistic or unrealistic you're being, you can't win. Game over and get off the TG server. (Which will hopefully exist

Re: Impression?
In a word: awesome!
I love the graphics - cartoony, but not too much. Sound is good, especially the voices - some other stuff seems ripped straight from HL2, although maybe those are placeholders.
Gameplay seems very good so far. Everything seems designed with teamwork in mind. The classes seem pretty well balanced. It's very easy to pick up and play.
There's a lot of humorous touches - like on the deathcam after I got blown up, it showed the player that killed me - and an arrow pointing to a gib captioned "A little bit of you". I busted out laughing on that one. Another one I've noticed is when your killer dies the same time as you do, it'll say you were killed by "The late Player X".
There are more nice touches - when one player kills another one repeatedly, the game will announce that - and mark the killer as the other player's nemesis. Kill your nemesis, and it'll announce you got your revenge in the kill message. Something else I really like is when there's an assisted kill, it'll list all the assisting players in the death messages.
Most of all, it's fun.BF2 POE2: NC_Tarheel

Re: Impression?
the assist includes a medic that is healing you, I found this out today when I was a heavy and had a medic healing me the whole time, which also charges you health above normal and charges the invincibility, woot.

Re: Impression?
Oh man, it marks you as nemesis and whatnot? HAHHAHA, I wish 2142 did this, I've gone a few rounds where like 60% of my kills from killing the same 3 guys over and over.

Re: Impression?
Yes, in the old system, you could really be a 1-man wrecking crew in certain situations where that simply isn't possible anymore. The capture point maps are what will give the game the lasting appeal. I got into a sudden-death round on hydro where a demoman, a medic and a scout along with me (soldier) just dominated the round winning the map for our team. We covered each other and did our job's according to our roles and it was simply a thing of beauty.

Re: Impression?
I love it! I just wish the medic in BF2142 had the life-giving, fire hose, backpack, thingy like the medic in TF2. LOL
I see great possibility for teamwork and tactics in this game. We'll have to play with it and see.Proud to have served with the TG-Irr, TG-3rd, and TG-Mth
