Squad 5
objectives::
Squad 5 is a team being formed to help promote small team dynamics and foster some more strategic and therefore competitive play.
players::
Squad Leader - micr0c0sm (Scout, Spy, Sniper) [(CD)micr0c0sm or s5::micr0c0sm]
gameplay::
If your field commander gives an order, follow it. If he tells you someone and does not say 'that's an order' you are free to question it but be reasonable about when and where. Be curteous to all players on all servers, regardless if you have tags or not. Being curteous is your judgement.
applications::
Squad 5 is taking applications. PM me your name, times you are on (EST), and top 3 preferred classes - if possible, one offense, one defense, and one support role. If you don't have them pick classes you want to get good at and we will practice. Don't worry about being locked in we just want to start getting more organized. Below is an example application.
information::
s5::name is the tag format
no vent or teamspeak channel or forums yet

Re: Squad 5
I was under the impression that only SM's can create a in-house squad.

Re: Squad 5
I have no idea how the in-house squad system works at TG since the last time I played BF2 was before the "patch that blows up your PC."
If an SM with a decent amount of knowledge would like to come up with some guidelines for how it would work with TG:TF2, be my guest. My only reservation is that with 12vs12 teams, a squad could encompass half the team, unlike BF2.
We're early in the setup phase for TF2. Hell, it's still in Beta, but that shouldn't stop us from coming up with ideas. In the future, I hope to have a TF2 Community Development forum in effect that would allow a freer exchange of ideas.Last edited by CingularDuality; 09-20-2007 at 05:16 PM. Re: Squad 5
To clarify - this is not sanctioned by TG and won't be of the format |TG-***|. I have not played BF2 and just wanted to get a group together that wants to work on small squad tactics for more than just 'those two maps we played together that one night'. Another reason its not going to be of the format |TG-*th| is because I think this game does not lend itself to tons of squads like BF2. Its more like people keeping thier Catpuncher's or SpongeBobMob tags after the NS in-house tourney. Casual, but definately a noted difference between random teamwork and planned tactics.
The reason it is not a clan is because I don't want the overhead of running something that most people associate with playing in officially sanctioned events. I am just looking for some players who want to step up the level of strategy by working in game and on steam. Tonight I am making the steam group and if you message me in game join the chat channel and we can work on strategies.
To reiterate - this is neither a clan, nor an in-house team, but rather some players that want to try and work on small team dynamics in the game.
I hope that clears up my goals a bit and gets some like-minded players together.
edit: we will not be getting a vent/teamspeak or forums - we will be using steam exclusively for chatting our 'out-of-game' contact and we will be posting our tactics and general strategic findings on the TG forums for everyone to try out / critique / improve upon.
