TF2 Screenshots?
Ok if you've played the game you know about that cool kill cam screenshot deal by pressing F5. Anyways I was wondering how do you export them to show your friends? They're in TGA files.
Thanks for your help

Re: TF2 Screenshots?
If it was me I would use Photoshop, but since you're asking I assume you don't have it
. You can google "tga to jpg converter" I'm sure you can dig something up quick.
I can find you something when I get home form work if someone doesn't make a better suggestion. Boss has been hounding me, I'm making posts between his freqent visits so no time
.

I love gaming, mmmmmmmm

Re: TF2 Screenshots?
You can view them with irfanview. You can convert them with that tool as well.

Re: TF2 Screenshots?
Are you sure TGA files are image files? I tried opening them up and they wouldn't even open up in preview which I took to be a sign of it not being an image file.
I do have Photoshop when I boot up in Mac, I guess I'll try then. Confusion on my part I guess.

Re: TF2 Screenshots?
TGA's are a form of Uncompressed image. They are not readable by most image "viewers" and usually only by higher end image editors.

Re: TF2 Screenshots?
Why do I feel like my post just got missed by two people. Those are TGA files, and Irfanview does open and convert them just fine. Irfanview is free.

Re: TF2 Screenshots?
You know what, they need a screen shot system of you owning instead of getting owned.

Re: TF2 Screenshots?
Photoshop is probably your best option that costs money (unless you don the pirate patch) otherwise Icky apparently is being ignored with his advice of irfanview, which is free.

Why not use The Gimp For Windows?

Re: TF2 Screenshots?
Nah I got it, I was just lost on the file format. I'm used to TIFFs and PNGs :P
I'm going to probably look towards using Fraps for Machinama, the TF2 engine is just way too robust to avoid it

Re: TF2 Screenshots?
You can press F5 at any time to capture a screenshot, not only at the death cam time. I think I'll bind a key to turn off the hud and then take a screenshot then turn the hud back on... I hate HUDs in my screenies.
