I was under the impression that the beta was for Steam preorders only.

I'm not 100% sure on that, more like 95% sure.

oh well, steam is just as good. Cheaper than Bestbuy anyway, $45. I think bestbuy had it listed for $49 plus a few dollars shipping.

Always wanted to play half-life and some of the mods, can't wait to try out TF2. The vids make it look like a ton of fun.

The orange box really is a great deal. A lot of gaming value - you can't go wrong.

yea, the DVDs would be nice, but I plan on backing the downloads up on the external hd some hopefully things will go smoothly.

i got the orange box. I have never played any of the games in it. so i am pretty happy and looking forward to the single player when I am in the mood. (usually when im sick with a cold or something i will play a single player game...)

I only had HL2 b4 getting the orange box. Finished Ep 1 over the weekend. Too short, but good. TF2 is a blast! Already paid for the whole box in the fun I have had playing TF2.

isn't the orange box only on sale via steam? This was the impression that I got...

Yeah, I was also under the impression that the Orange Box was only available through Steam. Last I read there was no plans for a retail in-the-box version.

I thought they just cut the black box from retail/ and steam?
