Re: Spy Defense
I don't get why people think spies are not good for a team. Fair enough some players will not be very helpful with them. But a spy can take down sentries and enemy snipers, which is VERY useful.
Also, if you co-ordinate, the spy can sap a sentry in time for a soldier or whatever to come in and blow it and the engineer up. Finally, having 1/2 Pyros is very useful, they take out spies better than anyone and they are great defenders anyway, especially when near the spawn or a dispenser. |

Re: Spy Defense
Spys aren't a patient bunch. A good spy is patient. Spy's main priorities should be sapping, not stabbing.
But like Fenix said, there aren't very many good spys out there. So don't let any offense classes get behind you. Travel in packs, but far enough to recognize everyone's personal space. "Comm Check!" every now and then. Don't waste shooting at each other. Pyros shouldn't just be spy patrol, but that's what they are. Communication is key.

Re: Spy Defense
And also stupidly easy to spot, since your model still "runs" at scout speed, ie road-runner style.

Heh I'm sure we'll be seeing that spray around a lot more often...

In this instance, teamwork is paramount. Combat classes hang back and harass the pyro. The spy saps and kills the engy if possible, then the combat classes move up to actually kill the sentry. I've seen this tactic in use and it is awesome to watch the effects. Quote:

Re: Spy Defense
Daxx showed us an example of this the other night...he was devastating, especially on the spies.
