Sun Tzu's teachings
How many of you have read them? I personally have read the book twice, and I'm sure at least one of you here has read it as well. I'd just like to share a few quick and useful quotes from the book, and I hope it helps you on the battlefield.
"Speed is the essence of war. Take advantage of the enemy's unpreparedness; travel by unexpected routes and strike him where he has taken no precautions."
"A military operation involves deception. Even though you are competent, appear to be incompetent. Though effective, appear to be ineffective."
"If your enemy is secure at all points, be prepared for him. If he is in superior strength, evade him. If your opponent is temperamental, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant. If he is taking his ease, give him no rest. If his forces are united, separate them. If sovereign and subject are in accord, put division between them. Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected."
"He who wishes to fight must first count the cost. When you engage in actual fighting, if victory is long in coming, then men's weapons will grow dull and their ardor will be dampened. If you lay siege to a town, you will exhaust your strength."
I'll let you take from them what you will, as many of them have obvious uses in any tactical game, or in real life. Good luck to you all, and I hope you benefit from this taste of Sun Tzu's knowledge. (read: go buy his book nao.)

Re: Sun Tzu's teachings
Only quote I know from Sun Tzu (I quite like it actually), is probably his most often said.
"If you know your enemy and you know yourself, you can fight a hundred battles without disaster."

Re: Sun Tzu's teachings
I prefer to apply Ripley's tactics to my TF2 game as Soldier. Take off and Nuke the entire site from Orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
