Re: Vehicle Setup

As time permits, I've been getting accustomed to my new wheel. I feel comfortable enough with it now that I'm ready to try tweaking the vehicles a bit. This thread is full of great info on the subject -- thanks for sharing, guys.

Tonight is likely bad, but tomorrow night may be a go. I'd like to get on the track with you guys so I can learn some stuff.

Re: Vehicle Setup

Server will be up for sure tomorrow as well. This one will be only the track/cars for Saturday's race, so you'll at least get a chance to see what's going on for the big event.

Hope you can make it!

Re: Vehicle Setup

I'm starting to understand some of this... but not all. Honestly, when I get into the menu where I can tweek my car up, I get totally lost.

I managed to play with two Corvettes today, I've improved one atleast, the other has some improvements, but at the same time, I also screwed that mudder up for a few corners and I have no clue just what I did to make it that way.

The resources provided have helped some, but like I said, the moment I hit the screen, I become totally lost. If anyone has the time, I wouldn't mind a quick walk-through of what each option will do for me and what they recommend I do as I begin to tweek things.

Re: Vehicle Setup

I'd be happy to confuse you even more with my 'understanding.'

Honsetly, most of my knowledge comes from the small gains I've made in the garage since reading the Setup Matrix that Tybalt found (posted in the reference thread too).

My biggest hurdle right now is integrating *all* the adjustments. I have a pretty good grasp of the effect each one has individually, but when combined with other settings, I don't know which one(s) magnify or negate or flatout screw up other settings.

Rocket seems to have the best grasp of tuning, so I'd say he's our resident expert. I'm sure that when any of us gets done with you, he can set you straight.

Re: Vehicle Setup

I am horrible at tuning the cars, I usually screw it up everytime. Every once in awhile I get lucky and get a good setup but I just can't seem to get the hang of it.

Haha

Well I noticed the last link of tybalt's here and printed it out. Ill give it a look over when Im tweeking my cars. As you said though, finding which tweek effects which setting and to what degree is part of what is holding me back, like if I drop a tyres air mass, how much will I have to do so to notice a different, ect.

I'm actually quite proud of my current 76 Corvette 'build'. I forgot the name of the track, even after playing on it earlier today (was our last track lastnight) and I was able to complete full laps without a single screw up. One lap was my first out of pit, next was the second, the qualifier... after that though, I'll have to see. Maybe I'll bring it out tonight
