Re: TGRL sim racing school?
I need to plan a few things before I can run the first session. But as far as open track this Thursday goes, I can gladly run a single make field.

Re: TGRL sim racing school?
We should try single make single setup just to see how it goes.

Re: TGRL sim racing school?
Well, since you suggested it, you get to pick it! Let's take it to the Open Track thread though.

Re: TGRL sim racing school?
Well, this is supposed to be the first week in the sim racing school. However, with a Drizzid and Rookie still on hold for online keys, I'm unsure if the first session should go forward. Fuzzy and Strag stated interest in attending, and I know they can get online alright. I'm happy to run the first session for just two if that's all that can attend. I mentioned that I can run repeat events from time to time, so it's not an issue to accommodate folks.
So... my question... if I run the first session tomorrow or Thursday evening (one or the other... I want to leave one night free for open track), is there anyone who would be interested in attending it?
If so, I have a download you'll need to get beforehand. I modified the Limerock addon track to have cones at all the turn-in, apex, and track out points around the full course. This is a teaching aid for learning the racing line, and for developing consistency. I'll post it tonight once I've double checked all the files and such. This will be a separate addon and will not conflict with previous versions of Limerock.

I'd be happy to wait until everyone has their online serial keys.

Re: TGRL sim racing school?
Same here. Mirfee, I'd be happy and able to show up either tommorow night or thursday. But like Strag, I don't mind waiting until the most recent purchasers of GTL get their online keys so that they too can join in our reindeer games.

Re: TGRL sim racing school?
Still no key guys I will try and shoot another email and another phone call and see if I can be a bit more persuasive. I will keep you posted.
If you guys want to proceed without me please feel free to continue. I don't want to hold up the others. Thanks for all the patience

Re: TGRL sim racing school?
Don't sweat it Drizzid. There's no timetable or anything. I'm more sorry that you're being ignored about the key.
How about this... I'm good to go with the first session. Strag and Fuzzy, if you and anybody else who wants/can join, let's do the first stint tomorrow, Wed night. We can start anytime after 9ET. This should still leave room for an open track night on Thurs. Please post if this is good for you, or you'd rather swap the nights (or postpone altogether). And I'm cool running it if even just one person shows.
Rookie and Drizzid, I can pick you guys up once your keys come through.
I'll post required stuff for tomorrow night in a few minutes.

Re: TGRL sim racing school?
Tommorow night (wednesday) works fine for me, but so does Thursday, so I can accomodate anyone else who might have conflicts. But for now I'll plan on tommorow night after 9pm until I hear otherwise.
Looking forward to it!!

Re: TGRL sim racing school?
Hey guys, I just opened my box back up and and just realized there are 2 stickers, one that says starforce code and another that says ONLINE PLAY CODE I didn;t notice it the first time when I loaded bc I just expected there not to be one after reading all the post before I bought it, so just today (only the seconf time I have opened it since the day I got it and loaded it) when I went to go learn on the single player I saw it. Do all of you have this sticlker as well on your copies??? I guess I will just give it a try and see if it works. Man am I an idiot! lol

Re: TGRL sim racing school?
The first batch had no key, but you could get one through an automated system at the GT Legends website (my box was like this and this was how I get hooked up). This system has since passed, as the second batch shipped with online keys (so it looks like you have one from the second batch). The current situation is what we're seeing more and more of... boxes with no online key, and no efficient way to get one (being no longer supported directly on the GTL site).
So... looks like you scored Rookie! Good thing you looked again. Hopefully we'll see you online soon.
Drizzid, any chance you have the same luck as Rookie?

Re: TGRL sim racing school?
Yea, that rocks Rookie. Glad to see you have your key. While I may be overly optimisitc, maybe the GTL developers realized their mistake and started sending out keys with all the new games... or more likely, the box you got was an older issue. In any case, glad to have you onboard and look forward to racing with you.
Edit: So Mirf, is it the case that all new GTL boxes are now shipped with both keys?

Re: TGRL sim racing school?
Sounds good Fuzzy! I'll consider this a plan. It's worth it even one at a time. We won't need hours to cover this stuff. Not even by a long shot.
On that note, anyone wishing to attend the racing school needs to download this version of Limerock that I modified for our training purposes. Just unzip and put the folder in your GTLegends/Gamedata/Locations directory and you should be ready to rock. Note that this version *will not conflict* with the regular version of Limerock Park. No need to dump the earlier version.

I don't believe there's any standard practice now. There's boxes floating around from different batches, not to mention the combo packs of GT Legends bundled with GTR2... which apparently has its own key issues (sketchy support for GTL, but full support for GTR2).
All the lingering problems with GTL seem to stem from greater focus being shifted to GTR2 (and to some extent RACE, if it's the same publisher). GTL is just old news to them and not worth the trouble anymore, I guess. Plain dumb!
