Re: TGRL sim racing school?
Roger that Mirf. I'll have it installed by tommorow night. Even if it is only me, I'll be a useful guinea pig to test your lesson plan out on.

Re: TGRL sim racing school?
One note about Limerock TGRL (the training track). As I mentioned elsewhere, I placed road cones at key points on all the corners of the track. I disabled the collision detection so they're not getting punted around and lost. Since there are no handy little sim marshals going out to replace cones, the only way to put them back in place is to restart the server, or have everyone leave and rejoin. Total pain. So, in the interest of spending time driving and not chasing cones, they're just visual markers with no physical properties whatsoever.

Drizzid, any chance you have the same luck as Rookie?
|
Unfortunately I do not have the same luck as Rookie. I have looked through my handbook, CD case and box for an online key but to no avail. I will try and continue to obtain a key as soon as possible.
If you choose to run the training session please proceed as planned.

Re: TGRL sim racing school?
Bummer Drizzid.
No worries about the first session. We'll get you up to speed. In the meantime, feel free to download the new track and try it out. Have a look through some of the reference material that's been stickied. The initial agenda is learning the racing line, so if you can read up on that a little and try it out in singleplayer with the training track, you'll at least be able to get started a little.

Re: TGRL sim racing school?
well the key code I guess appears to be valid, takes me to the next screen where you chose Lan or Internet and when I choose internet then goes to where I can register and I put in Rookie420 then password, confrim password, then email then click on the arrow to register and then is says please wait for about 2 minutes then reads "Registration Failed:could not connect to server" anyone got a solution???? I have tried about 10 times now and even made sure it was listed as an exception with my firewall

Basically, I remember that even if you had no key or it was wrong, it would still then give you the option to sign in or create an account, but of course neither option would work without the key. Once I entered my online key, those two options worked fine. I created an account and it was rather instant if I remember correctly. I was online within a couple of minutes of entering the key.
Hmmmm...

Re: TGRL sim racing school?
Awesome news Rookie.
And no worries man. The racing school (that I can teach) is for novices. Patience is part of the learning curve.

Re: TGRL sim racing school?
Next racing school session is Wed, 1/17.
I'll be on TS around 9pm ET.
Covering the same stuff as last week; namely, the racing line. I'll be posting some tutorial info before then (Presuming I finish it in time. Guess I have a deadline ).
Posted in the right thread this time.

Re: TGRL sim racing school?
I will definitely try and make it but Wed are a bit rough for me. I have been crazy busy lately and just haven't had time to sit down and practice much of anything.

Is there another night that works better for you? I only suggested Wed for... well... plain whim I suppose.

Re: TGRL sim racing school?
Well Thurs or Tues would be good or a Fri night. I am sorry I don't mean to be a pain in the a$$ I know you guys have gone to great lengths in getting me going but recently things have all gotten really crazy and my gaming time has taken a back seat. I should be able to make any one of those nights at 9pm ET or later.
