Static problems with fraps
Hi all
For some reason whenever I have running I seem to get major static on my mic and just don't know why, I see other people make movies with fraps and they sound just fine.
so may I ask what is the problem, could it be my sound settings, or my headset or something different?
thanks.

Re: Static problems with fraps
Do you use a headset or deskmic? It may somehow be causing a loopback between speaker and mic when FRAPS is running. Do your squadmates hear the static through your mic or is it only in your headphones, and do you have the voice input muted through the sound CP? What do you have your ingame sound settings at (med, high, ultra-high...)? Just trying to troubleshoot through the problem, I have little clue where it could be coming from.

Re: Static problems with fraps
well when I playback my videos I seem to sound just fine, but my squad mates complain about the static. So I started to do some testing with my sound settings and found that it's when I have stereo mix turned on that I get the sound problems, but don't you need stereo mix to record in game sounds.
oh and:
I use headset
I don't hear the static at all
voice input is not muted
all of my settings are on medium except for recording volume which is on high
thanks for the reply btw.

I have the same problem. My teammates cannot hear me but I hear them just fine. They said that all they hear is static.

Re: Static problems with fraps
Simpson/Dirtboy, are you the sort of people who have sound cards such that you cannot use TeamSpeak and BF2 at the same time? If so, I doubt you'll be able to run any two programs asking for the same input device at the same time.

Re: Static problems with fraps
no because I used to be able to run fraps o.k, but then my computer crashed so we had to reset everything (including all the sound stuff) and ever since then it's been static. Thats why I feel it has something to do with the sound settings.
