Battlerecorder and fraps

I suddenly realised the obvious the other day, you can fraps the battlerecorder footage as you watch it.

Procedure
  • Play on a server with battlerecorder enabled
  • Goto community button, then battlerecorder button
  • Select the file and down load, it will then appear on the right hand list
  • Play it, Q and T button give you options (spacebar to goto next playercam)
  • just fraps as you go, its that easy

BattleDirector

Battledirector is an improvement upon Battlerecorder for movie makers, it was made by the Sir.Community. It uses the battlerecorder files and gives you extra options eg removing name tags.

To grab the battlerecorder file
load 2142
goto community
goto battlerecorder
select and download

To find your battlerecorder files
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\Battlefield 2142\Profiles\Default\demos

To create a movie from the battlerecorder file
Use BattleDirector
Dowmload

Re: All things Battlerecorder & Battledirector

Ok I got a question. I notice that each BF recorder file has a time and date, what time zone would that be in? Mine(GMT+9) or where the server is located?

AFAIK, server clock time zone is used to build the file name.

Re: All things Battlerecorder & Battledirector

I am new to this and have yet to get the full version of FRAPS for in-game recording and I have a silly question. Is it possible to use BattleDirector to record in-game video thus circumventing the need for FRAPS or does battledirector only work with the battlerecorder files?

As it stands, I can only record 30 seconds of in-game action and i want to splice together some FRAPS and BR video much the way Exploding_Silver does so well. While i am not an irregular, I do some "pirating" of my own, so getting a full version of FRAPS is no problem, but I would prefer to avoid this if possible.

That leads right into my second question. Is there another product such as FRAPS that someone can suggest that does not cost $40? I would rather save some money and get on the supporting members list here.

battlerecorder to record 1st person like fraps = NO

alternative to fraps = YES
try
http://www.growlersoftware.com/download.html
http://forums.fevergaming.com/game-c...ive-fraps.html
works for some and not for others
no 30 sec limit, instead puts advert at start of video clip for 1/4 sec, and those frames can be edited out
