First Impressions
As I slowly get the beta account invites out and the players have had a chance to play a few games, please post your first impressions.

Re: First Impressions
After being smashed to bits by Asch, I gotta say...this is probably the best time I've had with a web game...ever. The maps and pieces are simple, yet creative, and allow for diverse strategies. The learning curve doesn't seem too steep. All in all, I give it 2 thumbs up!

Re: First Impressions
I like atomic got killed by asch my first round, but we've been playing are second for something like 4+ hours now. Very intense, very fun, well worth a look at it. With the turn time being up to a Day if you wish reminds me of playing Alpha Centari, or some of the Civ games PBEM.

Re: First Impressions
Seems really fun to me, lots of variety, but simple and approachable. I'm having lots of fun with it even if I'm not all that good yet. ^^ I'm definitely going to keep playing.

Re: First Impressions
There doesn't seem to be any in-game support for diplomacy. But if it's agreed upon to go 2 on 2 on these 4 player maps...I can't see the harm in it. It'd be kind of silly to team up on someone behind their back though.

I've played games where teams are defined before the round beings. I've also played games where people will communicate in-game to team up on someone. Some maps are not balanced and requires players to work together. At this time there is no single player play.

Re: First Impressions
Sounds like getting whipped by asch in your 1st game is a initiation rite! I too was soundly beaten.
Great web game IMO. It's easy to enter games (or start them) and I like the weewar tools that notify your desktop icon when your turn comes up. I'd quite like to be able to stack units! Also, giving full details of the selected unit on the right menu would be good. |

Re: First Impressions
I just played my first turn against asch, and his trooper already looks more menacing than mine. I like the graphics though, reminds me of Civ 1, and the terrain and advantages seem like they lend themselves to some subtlety of maneuvering.

Re: First Impressions
A fun little game. So far I've been decimated by Asch, and Cing is currently doing the same to me. The game is fun and strategy plays a factor. It's free and I'd recommend it to everyone.
The pro account might be worth the money. I payed 9 bucks for 3 months and I'm looking forward to trying out the advanced units. |

Re: First Impressions
It looks alot like Advance Wars, which is a plus to me. I just requested my invite from them and hope to be registered soon.
