[edit] Mission
To perform close air support, interdiction, strategic attack, and suppression of the enemy. To aid in troop insertions, work as a rapid response-based fighting ground force, and specialize in Titan delivery, assault, and defensive operations, and to do so employing a diverse array of combat capabilities including air-superiority gunships, combat transports, and precision-guided munitions.
[edit] Fortune Favors the Brave
The 11th Airborne is built around fielding a fully functional set of combat solutions in Battlefield 2142 by creating cohesive units able to utilize all aspects of combat; in air and on land, mechanized and on foot. The airborne focus is based on utilizing four to six-man air transports, two-man gunship teams, and all Titan combat operations. Airborne units are designed around deep tactical strikes designed to take territory, distract the enemy, and allow friendly main body forces to advance up to the airborne position. Airborne assaults traditionally involve being isolated from further reinforcements and surrounded on all sides. The 11th motto 'fortuna favet fortibus', or 'fortune favors the brave', reflects this approach to behind enemy lines combat operations.
Along with its focus on airborne training, the 11th AIR also trains extensively in both advanced infantry tactics and armored mobility, to provide a diverse 2π*r threat to the enemy and a versatile asset to commanders.
[edit] Introduction to the Regiment
[edit] Callsign
The official callsign of the 11th AIR is the 'Yellowjackets'. A yellowjacket is a wasp with black-and-yellow colored bands around the abdomen - they are infamous for their bold and aggressive behavior, as well as their extremely painful, repeated stings. The unit's coloration and airborne nature of our mission was cause for adaptation of the venomous aerial predator's name as our own.
[edit] The 11th AIR Insignia
- The traditional airborne patch denoting jump training.
- The yellow represents cavalry.
- The black traditionally represents iron and the transition to mechanized armor.
- The black dagger facing down represents the squad's airborne mission.
- Two curved stripes crossing at center representing the squad's use of airborne infantry and airborne armor.
- Four stars representing the four pillars of the squad's focus : gunships, transports, armor, and infantry.
- A yellow "11" in the center of the shield representing the squad's numerical designation.
[edit] Patches
Every full-time member of the 11th is given a patch. Inspired by the patches worn on the flightsuits of military pilots, gunners, and aircrew, the 11th AIR patch features our black and yellow color scheme and represents pride in our squad. In the center of the patch is our wings, of which there are three to choose from - one for pilots, one for aerial gunners, and one for our airborne aircrew. In addition, senior officers wear a star with a wreath as part of their badge, whereas the officer wears a star. The left of the patch is emblazoned with the bearer's name and a personalized image, while the right side features the 11th AIR name and mascot.
Members are not required to wear their patch, but it is encouraged. All member patches made for active members are visible below on our roster.

[edit] Recruitment
The 11th Airborne selects its members based on their enthusiasm about playing Battlefield 2142 and commitment to learning the methods of Tactical Gamer. Despite the airborne nature of the squad, recruits do not need to be skilled pilots or gunners. Strength in any area of the game is desirable, be it commanding, tanking, or simply on foot. Remember, gunships don't take flags - infantry are the most important asset on the battlefield!
Every candidate must meet the following criteria before being considered for membership:
- Be a Supporting Member of Tactical Gamer.

- Be an active member of the Tactical Gamer Battlefield 2142 community.
- Have the ability and willingness to use in-game Voice over Internet protocol (VoIP).
- Have the capacity to HAVE FUN!!!
