The 55th Infantry Division is a Tactical Gamer In House Squad primarily focused on Battlefield 2142. Founded by Bomber in May of 2008 and is led by Spulat, DrakenViator, and R. Stark.

[edit] Mission and Purpose
Rank nor score matter. Its about being able to make new friends and have a fuller, richer gaming experience. We play in a manner that upholds the |TG| standards and ethics of fair play. We encourage all to try and squad with us to get the full impact of what this game was meant to be. We guarantee the days of being a Lone Wolf will be over.
We at the 55th Infantry Division are a multi-disciplinary IHS open for dedicated supporting members who expect tighter team play and just a great time. Our aim is to have fun and improve our skills as individuals and as a squad. To do so we take heed of our motto "Organized Chaos: Five by five"

In ancient times, the Greeks believed that the first god ever created was Chaos. Chaos was nothing and everything; it was the ‘vastness of space’ the great abyss that all things came from. Chaos brought all of the four primordial elements together, earth, wind, water and fire and through it all things came to be. Together with Gaia (Earth), Tartaros (the Underworld) and Eros (the life-bringer) this world and all life was created. Without chaos nothing would exist.
In Medieval times the meaning of chaos changed, from the great vastness to the great unknown, or the confused disarray that was the world. Chaos began to be looked at in a dark light. Chaos was all that was wrong with the world. In a world where everything had its place, chaos was the great evil, destroyer of balance.
Now in modern times chaos has yet another meaning, in the theory of how the slightest action, no matter how small will contribute to world changing events. A point in time where all things are possible and all things carry equal weight. Chaos Theory: infinite details contributing to the greater whole.
The battles that encircle this world are planned and calculated designs. Each strategy meant to give the utmost advantage to one side or another. Generals of all nations try to bring order to the hell that is the battlefield. So too does the 55th Infantry Division, however we are not the ones sitting back in the war rooms under lock and key. We are the foot soldiers, on the ground fighting for control inch by inch.
For the foot soldier there is no clear overview, only chaos as bullets fly all around, squad member’s fall, and the enemy advances. We are not afforded the luxury of a comfy chair to dictate from as we try to make sense of the mayhem all around. We must work quickly and effectively within the confines of chaos in order to steer events in our favor. Yet during these times of trial, we must also remain vigilant to our purpose and to our squad. Only by teamwork and clear communication can we accomplish our goals set before us.
For this task of communication, vital for survival, we take from the militaries of the world a simple and powerful idea: Five by Five. Five by Five is a NATO command line used to describe both signal strength, and signal clarity on a scale of one to five, with five being the highest. A communication of ‘Five by Five’ is a strong signal clear of static. This term is also synonymous with understanding, meaning that you heard the message and understand it clearly. Together as a squad we must send a clear and strong signal to each other in order to relay information, ideas, and strategy, all in order to survive.
From these truths we take our goal: To combine the infinite parts of each situation into the crucible of teamwork and fair play, to create a new way, and a new existence for those who fly the |TG| banner to enjoy. We strive to bring forth order from chaos, or better still to work within the limits of Chaos to further our goals and objectives. Only with teamwork, friendship, and clear communication can this be achieved.

We are finally recruiting! What we look for are individuals who want to have FUN but who also clearly exhibit energy and dedication to the 55th, and an interest in developing tactical skill and active contribution in the forums. Acceptance is based on nomination so we encourage prospective members to join -55- squads, or with any member of the 55th, as often as possible. For those who aren't regularly found in -55- squads, an evaluation period will be assessed. However, anyone is welcome to inquire and apply.

[edit] Chaos Star
The symbol of 55th Infantry Division. The Chaos Star is two five pointed stars joined together. The Star of Order and the Star of Chaos. Each point of the star has a diffrent meaning and yet each point is only part of the greater whole. The Chaos Star is often displayed with a solid, or decorative pentagon as a back drop.
The Chaos Star was created in October 2008 by DrakenViator using 3dsMAX and later compiled in Photoshop.
