[edit] Mission
We are the TG-8th Mercenaries or "Mercs" for short. The team has adopted the nickname "Crazy 8's" and if you join then you will get to know the rest of your team mates and probably find that it is a truly fitting description in most cases.
Our #1 and most important expectation is to have FUN while adhering to the Official Rules, & SOPs. At the end of the day, this is a game and we will make it fun - or die trying.
If at anytime we are faced with decision, we make that decision as a group with the fun factor in mind. If we cannot come to a group decision then we ask the 'Almighty Magic 8 Ball' for guidance and its decision is considered LAW and as such cannot be questioned.
Our squad motto reflects our mercenary status and sometimes ham-handed approach to warfare:

We are a brand new Tactical Gamer in-house sponsored squad based around Battlefield 2142 and are currently working on making our history. The Crazy 8's were formed by Mach, Mox, Rage, and Dog on July 14th 2007.
[edit] Structure
The Crazy 8's Captains share all responsibilities within the everyday running of our IHS. No one individual can make a decision that affects the whole, decisions are made by the majority rule or the above mentioned Magic 8 Ball. The Captains gather as a whole, once a week, to talk about anything pertaining to the 8’s or any other related or non-related items.
At this time our Ranking Structure consists of the Captains, the Crazy 8's members and the Crazy 8's initiates.

[edit] Tags
Once you are a Crazy 8's member we want you to show your affiliation both in-game and in teamspeak. Please wear your tags with pride as we do.
Should you join, your tag should look EXACTLY like this: |TG-8th|
The "pipes" on the outside are created by shift+backslash, not by using capital i or any other variation. When imputing the pipes into BF 2142's "clan tag" field they will not show up in the field but they will appear in game as you play.....It's magic, it works, trust us.

HAVE FUN
To go out and promote Tactical Gamer, its focus on communication and tremendous respect for fellow gamers and so make non-TGers aware of our awesome community, allowing it to grow further.
To continue to improve our abilities as squad members, squad leaders and commanders and to compete as often as possible in TG and non TG sponsored competitions.
The 8th mascot featured above is affectionately known as 'Ned'. As an 8th Merc you may feel the need to provide a free tea-bagging service on the behalf of your abnormal nature from time to time. Ned's Unlimited Tea-bagging Service or N.U.T.S. for short, is a friendly reminder to the enemy that if they stand against you, then they shall be provided with a healthy dose of N.U.T.S.

As an 8th Merc, if you do feel the need to perform the N.U.T.S. tactical manouver, then the time and place is down to your own discression and the squad does not claim responsabilty for any body parts lost during exposure nor do we claim responsabilty for any awkward moments afterwards as you try to explain to an irrate admin just what you think you were trying to do! |
[edit] Recruitment
You must be a Tactical Gamer Supporting Member
First you must PM Ned at Crazy Ned with your desire to join the Crazy 8’s.
Once your intentions are known we will schedule times for you to join with the Captains on 3 different occasions in-game to evaluate you on many factors some of which will be your abilities to lead and follow, your enthusiasm, your communication abilities and your overall role within the 8's.
Once you have played 2 or 4 rounds with each Captain we will meet to determine if you are a good addition to the squad or not. If we feel like the fit is there, we will invite you into our Crazy 8’s squad as an initiate member. At this time you will put on your |TG-8th| tags and gain access to the Crazy 8’s private forums.
You will be an initiate for the period of 14 days after which time the Captains shall meet once more to decide on your final fate within the Crazy 8’s. We would like to think that if you have been able to tolerate us and we have been able to tolerate you for that amount of time, then you will be good for the team as a perminent addition.

WE ARE NOT RECRUITING AT THIS TIME
Growing slowly allows the new members time to become a part of the 8th before new recruits start the process.
[edit] Final Note
It is your responsibility as a Crazy 8's to make sure all 8th members understand and follow the rules of Tactical Gamer and report any infractions to the 8th Captains.
You must own or at least pretend to have access to a Magic 8 Ball in order to help solve conflicts.
