[edit] TeamSpeak 3
- Download & install: http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads
-
[edit] TG server
address: 74.52.1.234
port: 9988[edit] Combined Operations
- Combined Operations (CO) is the combination of ArmA2 (A2) and Operation Arrowhead (OA)
-
[edit] Method 1 - Single directory install
- The ideal method is simply to have both games installed to the same folder
-
- Install A2 into your OA folder
- or
- Move/copy the contents of your A2 folder into your OA folder
- or
- Install OA into your A2 folder
- or
- Move/copy the contents of your OA folder into your A2 folder
Doing a fresh install instead of moving/copying files is prefered as it will keep your registry intact
If you have 1 steam and 1 retail, install the retail game into the steam game.
If you have both steam I recommend using one of the other methods to maintain the integrity of your steam installs. -
When Complete you should have a folder containing:
- AddOns
- Common
- Expansion
- arma2.exe (only needed if you want to run A2 from this directory)
- arma2oa.exe
- Plus various other files
-
Update any shortcuts to moved executables
Old shortcuts won't work for any files you've moved - In the new combined folder, arma2.exe will run A2 and arma2oa.exe will run CO
-
If you need to run pure OA, rename your AddOns folder then launch using arma2oa.exe.
Rename back to AddOns when you want to run A2 or CO.
-
[edit] Method 2 - Using Mods
- This method refers to the content as mods meaning they don't need in the same directory/have the standard names.
-
You must first reference the folder containing your AddOns folder
Then, your Expansion folder - Examples: "-mod=C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2;Expansion;@otherMods" "-mod=@ArmA2;Expansion;@otherMods" (AddOns folder contained in @ArmA2 folder inside your OA directory, only useful for being able to run pure OA
- Make sure you use quotes around your -mod section if you have any spaces in your paths
-
for CO: arma2oa.exe "-mod=C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2;Expansion;@otherMods"
for OA: arma2oa.exe "-mod=@otherMods"
for A2: arma2.exe "-mod=@ArmA2;@otherMods" (If you have merged your installs using Method 1 and are using the method shown example 2)
-
[edit] Method 3 - Seperate installs with symlinks
- Download: http://robertsandiford.co.uk/ace_oa/sandi_coSymlink.rar
-
Extract to your OA folder
you have have the sandi_coSymlink folder inside your OA folder - Make sure you don't have a AddOns folder in your Operation Arrowhead
-
for XP, use makeSymlink_xp.bat
for Vista/7, use makeSymlink_vista.bat - right click on the .bat file and select edit
- replace "C:\Program Files\steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\AddOns" with the path to your ArmA2 AddOns folder (set up for Steam ArmA2 on C: by default)
- save and close
- run the .bat file
-
You will now have an AddOns link pointing to your ArmA2 addons folder, and will be able to run Combined Operations as if you had a combined install.
If you need to patch ArmA2, patch the original location.
If you move your ArmA2 content, you will need to delete your AddOns link and create a new one. - If you want to delete your symlink on XP, run removeSymlink_xp.bat, deleting it normally may take your original AddOns folder with it.
-
[edit] Patches
-
A2 1.09
Make sure this patch is applied to the A2 content being used for CO -
OA 1.59
Do not patch steam manually
-
