[edit] Mission statement
To provide a home for |TG| players across a range of games who cannot commit to a regular squad for whatever reason. Open to all TG forum members, our strength shall come from a joint and pooled effort. We will strive to ease the transition of inductees from an external to an internal mindset through training, fighting together as a team, and mutual support. It is hoped we will be looked towards to provide a pool of potential recruits for the other in-house squads as well as a place to form new in-house squads. Above all, the Irregulars will fight together when the opportunity arises and strive to be victorious, while having and achieving all above aims and goals. It is for those who would like a TG home-unit yet are not eligible, suitable, or interested in joining an in-house squad.
Our core membership consists of:
- Non-supporting members that are looking for consistent teammates and tactics.
- SM's looking for consistent teammates and tactics, but that can't make the full time commitment (practices, scrims, etc.) required by in-house squads.
- SM's contributing TG experience and tactics to help teach newer members.
- The Irregulars game in the Battlefield and CoD series of titles, including the various mods that are supported by TG.
[edit] Officers Corps
The administration of the Irregulars is headed by two levels of officers: the General O-Corps and the Platoon Leaders. The General O-Corps is in-charge of running the Irregulars from a planning and administrative level. Events, badge nominations, recruitment, and relations with the greater TG community will be organized by the General O-Corps. The current Irregulars General O-Corps consists of:
| Commanding Officer |
| ThePenguineer |
| Lieutenants | ||
| Training | Sonic and Damonte | |
| Intelligence | ikill4aliving |
Questions about general Irregulars operations, organization, recruitment, or about |TG| can be directed toward the corresponding officer.
On a more game based level, the Irregulars has the Platoon Leader system. The Platoon Leaders are game based officers who keep track of the Irregulars who play their respective games avidly. Game based events and questions will be handled by the Platoon Leaders. Games with larger Irregular presences may have 2 or more Platoon Leaders. The Platoon Leaders and their games are:
| NCOs & Platoon Leaders | |
| Project Reality | Sonic |
| ArmA | Socomseal |
| Battlefield 2142 | MDFubar |
Not every game supported at |TG| will have a Platoon Leader due to game restrictions or lack of involvement from the Irregulars. If you sense that there are a number of active Irregulars in a game without a platoon, please contact ikill4aliving, our intelligence officer, with a request for a platoon and a nomination for platoon leader.
[edit] The Ranks
The Irregulars has the basic organization from top-to-bottom of O-Corps, Platoon Leader, Members. However, if you would like to know what platoon slots will be available soon, please contact either Sonic (Project Reality), Gunner (ArmA), or Damonte (BF:2142).
The general membership is asked to indicate their game of preference upon recruitment. The member will then be assigned a Platoon based on their answer. Though members are free to play whatever game they wish, they will be expected to be actively involved in the platoon for the game they indicated as their preference. The current preliminary platoon roster was released February 23, 2008, and can be viewed at the Platoon roster page of this Wiki. Please check the new Platoon roster to make sure you are assigned to the correct game. The Old Roster will be archived for posterity and will no longer be updated. Assignments in the Old Roster will be disregarded beginning March 31, 2008.
[edit] Code of Conduct
All Irregulars members are expected to have read and understand the Tactical Gamer Primer and their respective game SOPs and Server Rules before official enlistment. As a member of |TG| and the Irregulars, members are expected to uphold a high standard of conduct and maturity. In addition to the guidelines laid out in the Primer, Irregulars members must abide by the following Codes of Conduct:
- We will not lock |TG-Irr| squads (ONLY exception is identified Irregulars Squad nights)
- We will not kick non |TG-Irr| players from TG-Irr squads (ONLY exception is identified Irregulars Squad nights)
- We will make new members in |TG-Irr| squads feel welcome.
- Irregular members are required to form Irregular squads in game.
- We will strive to play fair, lead by example, use good communication and be active members in the community.
- We are Tactical Gamers first, and Irregulars second. We will try and spread this way of playing as much as possible. This is our main goal.
- If for any reason you are not able to participate for any length of time please advise one of the Irregular officers or sergeants so that you may be placed in the "on leave" squad.
Failure to uphold this level of conduct is grounds for discharge from the Irregulars membership. Members concerned about another member's behavior are also encouraged to notify the O-Corps of troublemakers. Immaturity and poor conduct will not be tolerated.
[edit] Wearing the |TG-Irr| tag
Wearing The Tag In Game:
Account name = |TG-Irr|{your_name_here}
Prefix = none
OR
Account name = {your_name_here} Prefix = TG-Irr
- You must add the "TG-Irr" tag to either the prefix section when you log on or to your in-game name. This is not negotiable.
To use the tag as a prefix follow this procedure (thanks to WhiskeySix):
1) Create a backup copy of this file: ~\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Global.con
2) Open the file with a text editor
3) Change this:
GlobalSettings.setNamePrefix ""
to this:
GlobalSettings.setNamePrefix "TG-Irr"
4) Save the file
Wearing The Tag In TG Forums:
You must include |TG-Irr|{your_name_here} in your signature block, either in a graphic or text format.
How to Add the Signature
To put the "|TG-Irr|" tag in your signature so that you don't have to remember to type it out every time, sign into the TG Forums. Go to the User CP at the top of the page and select "Edit Signature" at the top left side. Type in the "|TG-Irr|" tag in the "your signature" block. Select save and you are done.
[edit] The |TG-Irr| tag
The tag (in-game and in-forum) is reserved for those in the Irregulars, and new recruits will be informed of when they may add the TG-Irr tag to your forum signature and to the prefix on your account, which usually occurs after you are enrolled. You will be informed when you are enrolled.
