[edit] How are ribbons awarded?
Detailed descriptions of ribbons and their requirements will be posted in the general discussion forum, for each participating game in the next few days. If you see a member who you believe clearly meets the requirements for a ribbon, send your detailed nomination to the appropriate Game Officer (or their designated contact). In the case of Oustanding Volunteer, please send all nominations to me. The content of your nominations will be considered when admins vote, so make sure you include as much relevant detail as possible.
Please remember that the power to nominate a player is a responsibility. If you nominate a player, and they are subsequently awarded a ribbon, people will expect to see them exhibit the behaviour that prompted the nomination. Should the player fail to do so, it could make people think twice in future, as to your judgement in such matters. More importantly, it will give newcomers to our community the wrong impression. With sensible nominations, ribbons can give an excellent indicator as to who is proficient in any given area of a game.
If you are awarded a ribbon, you can subsequently be nominated for further demonstration of the same skills / conduct, either in the same game, or in a different participating game. A second award results in a class 2 ribbon (class 6 is the highest available). Here is an example of a class 1 and class 2 ribbon :

| |
| Outstanding Volunteer Class 1 | Outstanding Volunteer Class 2, etc. |
Each successive class has an additional star, with a single silver star for class 6.
Once nominations are received, the admin team for that game will vote. For each class of ribbon, there is a requirement for a set % of admins to vote in your favour. The exact mechanics of voting isn't important, suffice to say the same guidelines will be applied across all participating games.
[edit] Wearing Ribbons
Awarded ribbons will be announced in the relevant game forums. Once you have been awarded a ribbon, simply copy the image location in the announcement post, and post it into your sig, remembering to include the IMG tags. The size limit for signatures does not apply to ribbons ; you can earn the entire compliment of ribbons AND use the maximum signature space.
Ribbons must be worn in the order listed above. Action will be taken against any member wearing a ribbon without authorization.
