[edit] Recruitment
The primary mission of S.W.O.R.D is to conduct “penetrations” of terrorist and other elite organizations and facilities, providing that facility’s security department with information vital to its own operations, and to prepare the department to face any terrorist threat. The vast majority of S.W.O.R.D. operatives come from the TG’s elite infantry battalions and Special Operations groups (HRT (Hostage Rescue Team), Para-Rescue, and the rumored TIGER Team), however candidates are drawn from all branches of the Tactical Gamer Community , Battlefield 2, Call of Duty 4, and may even include qualified civilian personnel.
[edit] Selection Process
This regiment is composed of rapidly-deployable light infantry forces with specialized skills that enable them to perform a variety of conventional and special operations missions – airborne, air assault, and direct action operations, raids, infiltration and exfiltration by air, land or sea in addition to airfield seizure, recovery of personnel and special equipment, and support of general purpose forces (GPF), among other uses. Each platoon is expected to deploy anywhere in the world within 18 hours' notice.

[edit] FNG's
After the formation of the S.W.O.R.D. School the term "FNG"(F!#king New Guy) became a point of some controversy which still exists. While those that served within SWORD units tend to reserve the term exclusively for their peers who serve in the Regiment, many outside of the SWORD units use "FNG’s" to denote all servicemen who have successfully completed the Army's S.W.O.R.D. course. Officially, such servicemen are referred to as being "SWORD Qualified" and are allowed to compete in the annual Jack E. Bauer, PCS. Best SWORD Competition
Throughout their time in LSG, Unit members may attend many types of special schools and training. Some of these schools include: military free-fall; combat diver qualification course; survival, evasion, resistance & escape (SERE); jumpmaster; pathfinder; Combatives Instructor; ranger first responder/combat lifesaver; language training; Mountain Warfare School; and many types of shooting, driving, and assault procedures training. Unit members with specialized jobs may also attend various special schools and training related to their job scope. MOS 13F (forward observers) may attend naval gunfire training and close air support courses; medics will attend the special operations combat medic course; communications specialists attend joint communications courses.
[edit] Being an S.W.O.R.D. Unit member
The soldiers maintain high standards for their personnel. If at any point, a SWORD team member is deemed by his superiors to be failing to meet these Unit Standards, he can be relieved and REMOVED from the 303rd Logistical Studies Group. This is commonly referred to as being RFSed, short for "Relieved For Standards". A SWORD member can be RFSed for virtually any reason; ranging from lack of motivation to disciplinary problems.
Similarly, a SWORD member physically incapable of performing his mission through prolonged illness or injury can also be removed from the Regiment through a process referred to as RFM or "Relieved For Medical reasons".
S.W.O.R.D selects its members based on their enthusiasm for playing Counterstrike: Source and commitment to the detachment's mission. Those initially selected are usually chosen in one of three ways. The first of these is in response to recommendations by TG unit commanders. The second method is by word-of-mouth, or personal recommendation from sources whose opinions are important to S.W.O.R.D. screeners. Finally, on occasion the unit will require the skills of individuals who might not fall into one of the first two categories. If, in the instance that S.W.O.R.D.’s commanders feel that an individual would make a valuable addition to the team (for example someone who speaks an obscure language or possesses hard-to-come by technical skills), a representative from S.W.O.R.D. will be dispatched specifically to interview that person. Individual skill and personality are both very important. We are looking for skilled players with fun and mature attitudes. We are recruiting. If you would like to join the 303rd Logistical Studies Group please contact Jack Bauer. Those that are interested in joining S.W.O.R.D may be invited to tryout. A tryout consists of multiple rounds played with the Sergeant Major, Command Sergeant Major and other members of the 303rd. Recruits may be asked to demonstrate skills within a controlled practice environment before being accepted. The length of the tryout period varies. During the tryout, we will be evaluating your skill level and personality to ensure that they both fit well with the 303rd Logistical Studies Group.
