[edit] About Us

The 31st Lightning Reconnaissance is a Project Reality and ARMA 2 based In-House Squad which prides itself on the principles of the Tactical Gamer Community. Members of the 31st are volunteers who have decided to be apart of an In-House Squad which in turn will mirror and promote these qualities on and off the battlefield. The 31st does not put up with any BS WHATSOEVER! In short we are a Motley Crew of players who each bring something to the battlefield, and at the same time are interested in learning new skills from our brethren, while working as a team to win and at the same time to have fun. The 31st is not interested in the best players, we are interested in the right ones. Every member is expected to have read, understood and uphold the Tactical Gamer primer and the rules of the server they play on. Be it TG or another server no matter what game it is.

[edit] Mission Statement

The mission of the 31st lightning reconnaissance is to bring a strong addition to the team. This will be done with superior teamwork instead of individual skill. We have as a goal that our members should have as wide a skill set as possible they should be able to fill most roles on our virtual battlefield. Be it squad leader, commander or squad member. This is to be able to help the team we are on in the best possible way.

We are also focused on bringing new content to Tactical Gamer and also try to develop new tactics and procedures to be used in game. We are always on a lookout for new ways of utilizing the available equipment as long as it is within the primer.

[edit] Guidelines

As a member of the 31st Lightning reconnaissance you are expected to live up to certain guidelines for your behavior.

– Play to have fun. Not necessarily by always winning but instead doing what you like and also trying to keep it a level playing field for both teams.

– Play tactically. Do what is needed by your team and encourage your teammates to play tactically.

– Be open to the community. Locked squads are frowned upon, and are only to be used in certain circumstances or if instructed by The Commander.

– Try to lead. We want to be able to lead a team not just play with each other.

– If someone needs help be helpful and answer their questions and introduce them to TG and the Forums.

– Communicate. Always bring as much communication on the field of battle as possible.

– Members should always see the situation from both sides. Even if it is the member that is being accused of something.

– As a member you will be expected to have read and understood the 31st Standard Operating Procedures.

– You are expected to participate in training sessions arranged by other members of the squad.

– Promote the TG way of playing even if you are not on a TG server.

– Members must wear their |TG-31st| Tags both in game and in Team Speak.

[edit] Training

The 31st Lightning Reconnaissance do not train on a regular basis right now. It is expected that when the squad reaches a certain size, regular training sessions will commence. This is to increase our ability to work together and along side each other.

[edit] Recruitment

The 31st will look at a number of different criteria when we recruit new members first of all you must have read and understood the Tactical Gamer Primer and the Project Reality server rules. It is also encouraged that you have read the Project Reality manual. It is appreciated that you have played with some of the members of the squad before applying so that we have someone that already knows you. We do not evaluate applicants based on their twitch abilities but instead by the following:

– Maturity.

– Activity in game.

– Behavior on and off the server.

– Willingness to play for the team. Take the roles that are needed even if you had a different plan.

– Ability to adapt to new situations as a leader or a squad member.

If you think that you can live up to the above, send a PM to either Randy or Katanama. We will put your application up for review and you will be given an answer as soon as possible.
