I was wondering about that. Is anyone clear as to whether the users could host a server or is it all done through their Massgate servers?

i did a quick search, and it looks like you can do your own dedicated server. Art of War has an option to have a WIC server package. Assumptions though!

I really hope this will run well on my laptop since I could possibly be without my desktop for a year starting in late september.

It looks awesome, if it's like CoH (I played it in a shop once, wanted to buy it but I have little of the moneys). It's gonna be that and BF2142 for the next 4 months.

Goodbye GCSE's!

Re: World in Conflict Beta OVER.. What's your plans?

One thing to clarify is that it has similarities to COH in that the explosions and details are fantastic, but, World in Conflict is completely different in terms of gameplay and multiplayer support system. It's fast paced and everything is played in 3-D. Multiplayer is set up so that you play one particular field; either Air, Support, Armor, or Infantry. Between the various fields you will need to work together with each other to win.

It's similar to Battlefield 2 in that you have control points you have to secure in order for your team to win. However, it's different in that this RTS game doesn't neccessarily rely on your control points for resources points to purchase/order new units.

Demo comes out on Aug. 20th (I believe), so if you have any more doubts about the game, you can test em out with the demo.

Ok, Wreck explosions and becoming obstacles and even fighting positions goes to COH, I won and lost rounds sometimes having troops fighting behind tank wrecks

A RTS like this would be a great fit for TG with all the teamwork requirements. I am looking forward to playing with you all.
