Multiplayer Question
I do plan on picking up the game but haven't done so yet.
My question is along the lines of speed of play. Not being a huge RTS guy I'm not interested in a mouse click fest or a contest of he who knows the hot keys best. Since you have multiple people on a team, does it limit the above? Do people end up feeling overwhelmed by everything going on that they need to control? Bernout |

Re: Multiplayer Question
I'm very into most rts games, been playing the AoE franchise forever, and c&c, and this is a MUCH different kind of game than I was used to. Since you can only be a certain role at a time, and since one role can be completely decimated by another you need to use teamplay to do any sort of good (granted that doesn't happen alot with pubbies).
I wouldn't say it's a clickfest, since everyone gets the same number of points and you can't have more units per say than the other team (although 2 light tanks cost the same as 1 heavy, etc.) It's more how you use your small number of units. You can just send them in waves to die to try and overwhelm a control point (ehem quad cannons in c&c anyone?), but that usually doesn't work too well. For the 1v1 games when you get TONS of reinforcement points I felt completely overwhelmed and it was nearly impossible to manage effectively, but on large games of 8v8 you can only make 8 or so units max, so it's very easy to keep track. I'de give the demo a try, it pretty much sums up the multiplayer pretty well, or just buy the game, we need more TG'ers to play this game ![]()

Re: Multiplayer Question
Generals? I never played that much online, generally just me and a friend vs 6 AI on a passworded game. We play CnC3 online a bit too, but all the tank spamming and stuff puts me off online RTS's. But now with WiC, it will be much better. Now if only I can persuade him to drop Halo3 and buy WiC... Only real problems with troop spamming on WiC is the airdrop light tank/infantry/jeep. but they're so weak it's hardly worth it.
