In an attempt to use the gold that is sitting in the Guild Bank, we'd like to disperse it to the guild for use. It is important for us to attempt to be fair. Instead of trying to decide how it should be spent, we're going to divide it up among the squads and the guild as a whole.
This may sound odd or even unreasonable to some, so let me start this by going through the other options we considered:
Allowing guildies to repair via guild funds.
This is somewhat pointless and is actually a nightmare to monitor. When would it be appropriate for a guild member to use guild funds for repairs? Only when they run raids, when doing 5-mans, or solo-questing? Wouldn't it make sense for each individual to pay for their own repairs as they seek their own endeavors? And then we considered those that raid and complain that they are spending alot of money compared to others in the raid. Money made by that raid group should pay for that raider, not the entire guild.
Guild-wide events could draw prize money from the guild funds.
This is actually a really good idea. It would serve the guild as a whole and would allow the prize money to be sizeable.
Do nothing.
Obviously this is not an option...especially with WotLK coming. We saw how much the value of gold depleted post TBC. We want to have fun with our investments now.
And finally, the method we will be using:
Splitting the guild funds into several chunks and letting each squad determine how it would best serve them.
By doing this, each squad can better tend to the needs of it's group. For those casual players, we'll also be reserving a large chunk of the guild funds to be used for events such as a PvP Tournament. Obviously everything will not be 50/50. When determining how the funds were to be split, we chose to value several things like:
-The life/longevity of the squad/platoon.
-The squad/platoon's input into the bank. (such as items sold and then money deposited into bank)
-The size of the squad/platoon.
Below is the breakdown of how the funds will be split:
Resurgent: 40%
Delirium: 20%
Cocidius: 7%
Defiant: 0%
Illidan's Fate: 7%
Visions: 3%
Extra: 23%
Any money deposited in the Guild Bank after this announcement will go towards Guild Sponsored events.
Now, while we could argue percentages all day, I'd like to table these arguments and just get this money dispersed so that the squads could decide on their own what to do.
