REQUIRED READING: Teamspeak Etiquiette
Tactical Gamer was founded with a few very simple principles:
1) Create an environment conducive for mature gamers to enjoy the games they play without the everyday interference from less-than-mature gamers.
2) Create an environment where there is mutual respect for your fellow gamers and where all members work together to advance the enjoyment of their hobby.
Tactical Gamer is here to support a particular style of game play. Only through enforcement of our rules and principles are we able to continue to support this style of play. We are not here to cater each of our supported games to the popular demands of the broader gaming public, but to provide an environment that fits our target audience.
Not all players who come to Tactical Gamer will find what they are looking for. Some people seem to be more interested in highly-competitive play where winning is the most important objective.
Tactical Gamer requires teamwork because only through working as a team can we complete the objectives we are assigned. The reward for winning through superior strategy and tactics is far greater than the reward for winning alone.
Part of the Tactical Gamer “culture” is our use of TeamSpeak.
While we would prefer a minimum of rules, there are some guidelines that we have developed for our mutual enjoyment of the game. Our guild officers are specifically responsible for enforcing these guidelines.
-No swearing or abusive language.
-No disruptive chatter. Keep excessive chatter to a minimum. Try to use guild chat in game when possible.
-No interrupting others while they are speaking.
-No transmitting music or other sound effects over TeamSpeak.
-When running an extended party, an instance or a raid, choose a party channel and use it. Don't run groups or instances in the main channel.
-Guild-related game discussions are considered a priority to idle chatter. When asked for clear comms by an officer, there should be radio silence until otherwise notified. If you need or want to continue, move to another channel. That’s why we have them!
-Please avoid excessive personal details. We don’t want to hear about every AFK (or return from AFK) or a blow-by-blow of your battles in general chat.
-DO respond to requests for help, even if the response is that you’re not able to help. Responding via chat instead of TeamSpeak is encouraged, especially when we have a lot of players on-line.
-DO try to answer questions in a helpful way even when you think the answer should be apparent. It is appropriate to answer questions by reminding the person with a question about Thottbot or other appropriate resources.
Repercussions
1st Violation: The player will likely be approached (in private) via chat by a Guild Officer with some “constructive” suggestions. This may be as simple as a request to move your conversation to a different channel.
2nd violation: the player will be notified via TeamSpeak and may be subject to TeamSpeak restriction.
3rd violation: the player will be suspended from TeamSpeak and will be put on probation in the guild which may result in their removal from the guild should their behavior not improve. If the violator is a person who is NOT in the Tactical Gamer guild, they will be banned from the server upon their 3rd violation.

Sounds good. On the cursing thing, Im sure the f-bomb is not wanted, but the occassional "damn" or "hell" will slip. Am I correct in asuming these slips wont be counted as infractions??

From my perspective, we will never be absolutely clean. A good working standard is to think PG-13. After all, we are an adult guild (!?), but we want to be a classy one too!

Think "professional". That's always been my guiding light when contemplating language and TacticalGamer.
If a bank teller used certain colorful terms, would I reconsider my banking options? What about the man who prepares my taxes?
If it's not suitable for a professional setting, it's probably not suitable here.

These are pretty much the ground rules for communication here, so it doesn't matter if you play Warcraft or not. It's the TG way!
