Is Tactical Gamer the guild for me?
The best way to find out is to give us a try. You can hang out in the forums to see what we’re about. You can join us on TeamSpeak to eavesdrop on the conversations (must have an active forum account and click the teamspeak link in the upper left of the forum pages). You can tag along on guild outings if there is space available. When you do join the guild, we have a 30 day period in which you have “Recruit” status. Think of this as a mutual trial period. This trial period may be extended if you are not actively playing your character during the recruit phase.

What sort of guild is TG?
Tactical Gamer is a guild created around the idea of mature gamers using teamwork and sound tactical gameplay to accomplish game-based goals. Tactical Gamer is a casual end-game raiding guild for mature (18+) players. We offer a friendly, cooperative home for skilled and dedicated players. We do not require minimum attendance from our members since we recognize the need to balance WoW with RL obligations of family, work and other commitments.

Do you have an age requirement?
You must be 18 or older to join the Tactical Gamer guild. Guild member or not, we welcome all players to run with us provided that you want to work cooperatively as part of a team and act in a mature manner.

    How do I join?
After you have read the TG Creed and Values statement, indicate your interest by completing the registration information in the TG Application thread. You can expect to be contacted by an officer. It is in your interest to spend time during that 30 day period interacting with guild members via guild chat, Teamspeak and by grouping for gameplay. If we don't know who you are from first hand experience, then it is pretty hard to change your status to full membership and your recruit status may be extended.

    Forums, Forums, Forums!!!
If you're not checking the forums daily...yes, DAILY... you're missing out on important information as a guild member. Failure to check in regularly will lead to missing out on guild updates, events and other important information.

What sort of end-game activities do you have?
We are officially "casual end-game". We have adopted a squad mentality in order to take the strain off of the officers of the guild and allow members of the guild to control their own play time.

What are Squads and how are they run?
Squads are groups of guildmates that are capable of running 10-man raid instances. Squads are designed to fit the play time and play style of its members. Each squad is unique in its scheduling and its pace. Squad membership is optional and not required to be members of the guild. Alts may join as full squad members if allowed by the Squad Leader.

Squads are run by Squad Leaders who have been promoted to officers to effectively support their squad. All squads are bound by the overarching rules of the guild, but are allowed autonomy in determining their own squad roster, loot rules and schedule for play time. Squads may also have a tactical officer designated by the squad leader who will lead each run and research strategies. Every squad will create a squad charter to give guild members a feel for how that particular squad intends to be run. Every squad will have a forum for its members to discuss the ins and outs of their team.

    How are Squads formed?
Anyone is encouraged to form a squad. We appreciate the enthusiasm and hard work that it takes to coordinate ~15 people. When you have a decent player base for your squad, create a charter. Send it to an officer for adjustments/verification. If accepted, post it on the Squad Charter thread. Your squad will also get its forum shortly after.

If you need help trying to form a squad, please speak up in the forums and see who else is also interested. We have a nice group of people here and the dynamics/playtimes of people are always changing.

For more info on Squads, see our Introducing Squads thread.

What if I want to change squads?
If you want to change to a different squad please first have the common courtesy to tell your old squad leader so he/she can plan and adjust accordingly. Squad leaders should then discuss the issue between them and the new squad leader will contact you to determine if a switch can be made.

How do I sign up for raids?
We have a separate signup site at www.tacticalsites.com/wowraid
This site requires that you register (yes, again!). Then complete the profile which will list your character(s). At that point you can then sign up for any guild sponsored raid.We will always attempt to fill any missing spots from the queue before taking any "walk-ins". Additionally, if you signed up or queued at least 24 hours before the event, as a guild member you will have priority over non-guildies who want to join the raid.

    How do you handle loot?
Loot is "need over greed" unless stated prior to the run. Preference should be given to those that will upgrade instead of side-grading.

    Do you guys PVP?.
Yes we do, but we are not a PvP-focused guild. PVP is an individual choice, however, not one of guild focus. We do periodic guild groupings for PVP and schedule "PVP Nights" from time to time to support this.

Can I get help with my lower level character?
Absolutely! The best way to get help is by checking the in-game guild roster and chatting/whispering with others around your level to form a group. Bigger quests and instance runs can be announced/requested in the TG forums ahead of time so that people can learn about it, express interest, and plan for being there. Higher level players can also help out from time to time, but we expect you to do most of the "heavy lifting" around leveling on your own. There is talk in the forums of supporting more of the lower level activities if someone is willing to spur the action into motion.

What happens if I want to join another guild?
If you are a TG member and decide that you would be happier in another guild, we wish you well. We also expect you to immediately cease your membership in TG at the time you apply to another guild. While we understand that there can be many reasons to change guilds, remaining a member in TG while actively seeking to join another guild is inconsistent with our goals.

If you believe you have valid reasons for staying in TG while seeking to join another guild, you may request consideration of your situation by one of the TG senior officers (Beep, Orion, Luna or Ricca).

How do I get on the Guild Roster Internet Site and get one those cool looking signatures?
The best way is to follow these instructions...http://www.tacticalgamer.com/world-w...ld-roster.html
or go to wow.tachyonsix.com/armory and seek their Sig Generator (We suggest this since it doesn't require an addon in the game to have it working sorrectly.)

Who are the officers of the Tactical Gamer Guild?
Please see the Guild Officer Roster for our most up to date list of our officers.

How is rank structured within the Guild?
The current ranks are as follows:
    Officers:
Guild Master - Leader of the Guild
High Council - Chosen by the GM from the Officer pool to counsel the GM on certain decisions.
Officer - Composed of Squad Leaders and other officers that hold certain responsibilities.
    Enlisted:
    Primary - Main toons.
Noobsauce - Joke rank for demotion with loss of ability to type in guild chat.
    Secondary - Alternate toons
Recruit – New guild members. Required to spend 30 days as a recruit. This is a “trial period” to insure mutual compatibility.
    What is a “Supporting Member”?
Tactical Gamer is a large community that encompasses more than our guild, and more than this one game. TG has over 3,000 members, and boasts numerous resources that it makes available to its members: Multiple game servers, Teamspeak, forums, and development are just a few of the many awesome things that TG provides for us.

Without our supporting members, Tactical Gamer would simply cease to exist. Our subscribing members, through a revolving monthly contribution of $8.95, keep our servers up to date, running, and allow us to develop new features for the community. Every resource we have is directly attributed to the generosity of our contributing members. We are always thankful for these generous folks, and often look to find ways to thank them that are tangible and cross all of our gaming communities.

In an effort to encourage our guild members to become contributors to the greater community, you are invited to become supporting members of Tactical Gamer. This is by no means a requirement- sometimes, contributing financially isn’t a possibility, and we never frown upon anyone unable to subscribe. Non-financial contributions, such as participating in the forums and within our guild are priceless. We are grateful for your contribution, no matter what form it takes. But, if it is an option for you to become a supporting member, we ask you to strongly consider it. We want our guild to be known for supporting the greater community.
