What's Blizzard's excuse for not allowing character migration? I'd be happy with adding a tariff and a cool-down of a few days to keep the farmers from exploiting it too much and to damp the economic fluctuations, but it doesn't seem like something that's technically very challenging, and it would allow the realm load to balance out over time.Dude, seriously, WHAT handkerchief?

Re: Because you all asked (or not): an update on character creation.
there is currently one post still up, and that's becuase the sticky broke because it got too many replies. i guess they figure it would be in poor taste to not at least give players one thread to gripe in.
and guys, i'm not looking to start a coup among the guild. i just felt i should let everyone know what blizzard is doing to new players. it's downright outrageous, imo.
even if you call support and talk to a live person, they promise you that an update is forthcoming. i was told there would be an announcement by the end of the day...
and blizzard's offices have closed by now. any company who will outright lie to you (and hundreds of others who have called the support lines in an attempt to get a rise out of them) is just despicable.
most of us would rather hear 'hi, thanks for the money, now **** off' than be completely ignored.

Although I agree with your opinions about how Blizz is dealing with the situation, Burble, I am sorry to say I disagree with what you think they are doing to new players. Blizz is always putting new servers online where there is more than enough room for new players. Coming in as a new player you have to understand that the old servers will become highly populated over time which leads to serious performance issues. Thunderhorn is already experiencing these issues. You can't expect Blizz to allow an unlimited number of people to populate one server.
I have a friend that I talked into playing WoW finally, only to find he couldn't create a toon on Thunderhorn. Yea that sucks, but that does not mean he can't play, it just means he has to play on another server. I played through the Christmas rush and it was aweful, the lag never stopped, no matter where you were in the game. As a player already on a busy server, I'd be very upset if Blizz left character creation open to new players.
