Re: Guild Bank: Tier 1 Set Piece Giveaway
I'm happy to hear that this is being discussed... seems like it may come up again, better to be prepared.
FWIW, I agree with Gaviin on this... and I especially like the idea of a class-specific DKP cost/payment.

Ok, this is not a response to Luna.

Now, assigning relative DKP to items seems fair, but that is hardly a giveaway then, is it? If you want to do something nice for the guild, then DKP should not be involved at all, unless it's used as a measurement for activity.
Even then, we have another problem: DKP would be assigned based on activity, which would look an awful lot like cronyism.
I don't have a solution, but for my officer vote, I'm leaning towards KISS.

Re: Guild Bank: Tier 1 Set Piece Giveaway
We have epics that were obtained in trade with another end-game guild. We had rare materials that they wanted so a trade was negotiated involving epics and gold.

If we give out epic loot with no dkp implications, then everyone else who had to pay DKP for the equivalent item is not being treated fairly (IMO). If the person IS charged DKP, then we have a question of who exactly should receive the positive, off-setting DKP. KISS in this case suggests to me that we handle it exactly like we would in a raid setting...charge the receiving person and credit those who were in the raid WHEN THE MATERIAL THAT WAS TRADED dropped.
As to the possibility of "cronyism"...I take issue with that sort of characterization. DKP IS assigned based on activity. The ONLY way to earn DKP is through activity in our 40 man raids. Total earned DKP is the best single measure of on-going regular participation in our raids. If we want to have handouts of epic loot, I think KISS means to give it those who need it and who have been the biggest contributors to our end-game raiding success.Beep

We should take this to the officers forums.
