The way the raid sign ups work is the first X get put on the 'main list' and then a line starts in the que at X+1. So if the first 5 are raid spots then 6 and down will get placed in the que. If you choose to sign up in the queue then you automatically get placed at X+1 and 1 through X are left open. When you sign up you are given a number based on when you sign up.

Here's an example:

5 spots are open in the raid.
First person signs up for the queue. They are given the number 6 and put in the que. ( X/X/X/X/X::6)
Second person signs up for the raid. They are given number 1 and put in the main list. ( 1/X/X/X/X::6)
Third and fourth person sign up for the raid as well. They are given numbers 2 and 3. (1/2/3/X/X::6)
Fifth person signs up for the queue. They are given number 7. (1/2/3/X/X::6/7)
Third person drops out of the raid and goes to the queue. Number 2 is gone and they are now number 8. (1/-/3/X/X::6/7/8)
Sixth and Seventh person signs up for the raid. They are given numbers 4 and 5 on the main list. (1/-/3/4/5::6/7/8)
Eighth person signs up for the raid. They are given number 9 and placed on the queue list even though number 2 is empty. (1/-/3/4/5::6/7/8/9)
Seventh person leaves the raid. Number 5 is empty. (1/-/3/4/-::6/7/8/9)
Ninth person signs up for the raid. They are given number 10 and placed on the queue list. (1/-/3/4/-::6/7/8/9/10)

So the end result is: 1, 3, 4 in the main list. 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 in the queue. Barring officer intervention this means that of the 'first five' only 3 will show up and people will be taken from the queue starting from 6 onwards.

Its a 'bug' that you can't sign up to open spots if there the first five have signed up and left the raid, but its still working at intended since people can still be pulled up from the queue.

And no. No one can ninja those open spots if you are being placed in the queue because those spots have already been taken and vacated. Sign ups will then progress through the queue if those spots are left open when invites start and thus not an issue that should require officer bumps.

And the point is made moot as I now realize we have a new sign up page and system. Spiffy!
