    Sui,

Not to nitpick or anything but I would be willing to bet that at least 60% of the people in last nights raid have a least half of their Tier 1 gear. Beep, Kitty and I each have between 50%-75% of our Tier 1 gear and I have 2 pieces of Tier 2. At least two of our pali's have all of their Tier 1. I believe our priests are at about 50% or more, the hunter's have been getting a ton of Giantsalker drops and given the amount of Cenarian that drops it's hard to believe that there is much the droods don't have.

I'm not saying we wouldn't be successful if we started substituting people out but I strongly believe that it will slow us down considerably. Personally, I wouldn't want to run MC again with less that half the people geared out.

MC will eventually become more crystals than loot because we'll be looking for the more rare set drops. At the current drop rate, I'd anticipate that the Warriors get their Might helms and legs somewhere around 2009.

Yah, I was just responding to the notion of everybody in Tier 1 or near to that... that's not realistic. Also, it's more important with tanks. Our current condition is such that we can get away with nearly one-nighting MC without a GEAR minimum. What inklings I'm gettin from people is an even more conservative approach, of which I dont think is necessary.

As for subbing, we've already been doing this within the rotations. There are no real losses.

And you said it urself, u think about 60% are semi-geared.... this would denote a need for gear in itself.

If we get to the point where everyone in a class is geared then there's something obviously wrong. If at least 1 in each class needs gear that's only 20% of the raid undergeared, largely made up by completely geared raid-mates. As the latter states, the more gear people get... the EASIER it is to have someone in the raid lacking gear while slowing down the raid minimally.

And STILL, the #1 reason we wipe is what?? Mental mistakes. I have yet to hear a RL say "we need better gear".

Good Gear is a buffer between a mental mistake and a wipe... look at the 20 sec lockup... in that time beep went from about 80% hp to 15% hp.. and LIVED... a mob doing 20 sec worth of damage and no heals... and he lived.... if he didnt have as good of gear as he does... then he would have died.. then the mob would have went from healer to healer 1 shotting 5 priests.. then aggro to a hunter who could take it with heals.. but the priests are dead.. because the MT didnt have good enough gear to tank a mob solo-no heals- for 20 seconds

Re: Raiding with Mains and Alts: Priorities and Practices

Y'know guys, the guild officers and class leaders worry and discuss all this stuff...A LOT! We are constantly into gearing up, raid scheduling, rotating signups, establishing gear minimums, gearing priorities "outside" of DKP if needed...

I have a lot of faith that we will continue to make the right choices for the guild.

Even when we are BWL veterans, there still be a need to run MC and gather materials and loot, and gear up newer members or alts. We've been in MC for months now, and I still have only 6 of 8 tier one pieces (WOW...did I just say "ONLY"...lol). FWIW, the Might 8 piece set bonus is +threat to Sunder Armor attacks...a very needed tanking thing for certain fights when bosses are immune to taunt and attacks are the ONLY way to build aggro. Even with a piece or two of Tier 2 (Wrath), there will be many fights where tanks will wear all Tier 1 (if they have it) for the bonuses.

If you're not part of the officer discussions in officer chat and in our officer forum, it's probably very unsettling to not know what's going on...or how hard the officers work to keep the drama down and the fun up. The best I can offer is that we take our roles as your leaders seriously. We don't always act swiftly, but we are giving it our best shot to make and keep TG the best guild on Thunderhorn!
