What happens in the Forlorn Cavern stays in the Forlorn Cavern. At least that's what Pistos told me. :P

Re: Issue
There are some real nuggets of wisdom in this thread that I think give alot of perspective to why someone would be invited on one night to fill a spot, and not be permitted to sign up for future raids. I am getting the distinct feeling that the intention of those invites- that is, to be welcoming, and to show other guildies what's in store for them when they're ready, is being taken advantage of and treated as a guild-given right instead of a privilege.
As class leaders, the opportunity occassionally comes up where there's a raid spot open and we have a chance to bring in someone new to show them around and give them a sneak peek of what they will soon be doing. Most recently, I have done this with Yoddea. Yoddea has never asked, nevermind insisted, that he be invited ANYWHERE. I brought him into MC about a month ago to show him around, and he understood clearly that he wasn't geared properly, and that I was personally taking responsibility for him for the sake of showing him new content.
The next week, he didn't go sign up for MC, because he understood there was work to be done for him to be ready. He has busted his butt getting gear together, and has been excellent with his communication with me in terms of his progress on gear and attunements and such.
This past weekend, we happened to have another opportunity present itself. We had an open spot in BWL, and while Yoddea's gear has come a long way since that one night in MC, he really was considerably undergeared for BWL. BUT, the fact that he has been communicating with me all along and has generally been enthusiastic made me ask the raid if they minded if we took along a severely undergeared, but overly enthusiastic pally who would just enjoy getting to see what the fuss is all about. Do I expect Yoddea to sign up for BWL next weekend because he was here when we killed Vael? Of course not! He knows it was a privilege, and is treating it as such.
As for having 2 T2 pieces to get into BWL- I would have to assume that there was some miscommunication or misunderstanding there. That guideline makes no sense. Since I have no idea who is claiming that someone said this to them, I am unable to clarify the issue for that person. Each class has its own requirements, but I am positive that there isn't a single class in which this arbitrary number would honestly be used.
I can only hope that our welcoming, inviting gesture as class officers isn't being turned into something that is expected/demanded. If that's the case, I'll be sure not to invite anyone into a raid who is undergeared ever again. I'd hate to see such a friendly concept ruined.
Again, if whoever this person is has spoken to their class leader and that hasn't answered their concerns, they are free to escalate the issue to a senior officer privately.Last edited by beep; 10-17-2006 at 05:59 PM.

You're a great friend but if we're ever chased by zombies I'm tripping you.
